Magasinet has this conservatory feel to it with exposed brick walls, a skylight and an abundance of plants. This is a place where you go more for the ambience and setting, more so than the food, It’s ok, but it’s not fabulous (their avocado rye bread sandwich). This is the place you have breakfast at if you are going vintage and second-hand shopping as it’s close to a majority of good second-hand shops in Gothenburg.

Gothenburg’s old harbour neighbourhood has become a trendy hub for restaurants and bars, and that’s where you’ll find Kafé Magasinet. Although not a vegan restaurant, there is a delicious salad on the menu, comprising the likes of deep-fried tofu, roasted nuts, broccoli, sprouts and soya dressing. With generous opening hours, serving everything from breakfast to dinner, it’s popular with Gothenburgs.

Kafé Magasinet at Tredje lång (the street behind the famous Andra långgatan), is a super popular restaurant and bar at night, filled with customers and a loud volume. However, during the day there’s a really calm atmosphere with incredible natural lightning streaming in from the glass ceiling above. The interior is filled with big green plants, industrial lightbulbs, and cozy pillows.

From 7 am on weekdays and 9 am on weekends (until 11 am), trendy café/bar Kafé Magasinet offers a smaller and a larger breakfast menu, with optional add-ons. Enjoy healthy stuff like avocado, smoothies and juice shots, freshly ground organic coffee and sourdough bread from the inhouse bakery – while observing the city’s creative community who like to hang out here.

You know those days when you’re playing tourist so hard and nothing sounds better than sitting down for a spell with a large beer for company?. That’s how we felt after walking what felt like 100 miles around Gothenburg one day. We saw the entrance to Kafé Magasinet’s courtyard as we were tooling around Haga and mentally bookmarked it for when we needed a rest.

The first laptops open up here at around 8 o'clock in the morning as mobile workers choose to start their day with one of the café's breakfast packages. The menu changes during the day from breakfast to lunch and finally dinner. The café is licensed and is ideal for anyone who wants to swap their wifi connection for social connection at the end of the day.

Kafé Magasinet is a tucked-away cafe-bar that’s a haven for friends and colleagues alike. From the outside you’d never guess that it’s a sprawling cafe with an industrial feel, from the concrete floor to the grungy counter. In the spectaculer covered courtyard are hundreds of plants, making it the perfect green space to study or catch up with friends.

In terms of interior design, Kafé Magasinet is my favorite café in Gothenburg. One part of the café (where you order your drinks) is a former warehouse and still has that industrial feel with lots of concrete and steel. The other part is a bright conservatory with cosy seatings, a glass ceiling and lots of plants.

**Kafe Magasinet is located opposite Taco and Tequila (which was mentioned before) and is the perfect place to grab a casual glass of wine or beer. The interior is super nice and scandi, but it gets quite crowded in the weekend, especially at the start of every month (just after people got paid).

Kafé Magasinet is hosted in a property from 1892 formerly used as auction house. The cafe is connecting two inner yards, creating a hub/natural meeting hub in the new urban flow created by the yards.

A new favorite is Kafé Magasinet in the old auction house on Tredje Långgatan. It's very industrial and has a fantastic courtyard with a brick wall and magnolia trees.
