The pared down, elegant interior has a simple but welcoming vibe that works well with the food. Jord offers filling vegan dishes like tofu scramble, pea-pesto sandwiches and vegan cake, and its all-day breakfast is a favourite with locals.

Jord, meaning ‘earth’ in Swedish, is one of Malmö’s best specialist vegan restaurants. Stop by this light and bright corner café for one of its all-day vegan breakfasts beneath the warm glow of exposed light bulbs – hummus bowls with baked red cabbage and carrot topped with hazelnuts and herb vinegar, perhaps, pea pesto toast with pickled cucumber ribbons and chive, or granola bowls filled with blackberries, coconut shavings and mint. The next morning, we walked to Jord for breakfast (although if we’d had time this is also a great spot for fika!) Another cafe filled with light flooding in from large windows, this was a lovely spot to enjoy a lingering meal. We sat in the window while I devoured my avocado toast - after spending longer than usual deliberating over what to eat thanks to their vegan-only menu. Jord also has a small shop in the corner of the cafe selling items such as locally made ceramics, branded tote bags and beautifully wrapped chocolate.

As you step into JORD, a vibrant and eclectic haven in the heart of Malmö, you'll be enveloped by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for a productive day of laptop work. With its extensive menu of innovative, all-vegan dishes and exceptional coffee, JORD has become a go-to destination for remote workers and foodies alike. The café's spacious interior, complete with cozy nooks and abundant natural light, provides the ideal setting for focusing on tasks or meeting with clients.

If Farm2Table is full, head over to Jord to get your fill of vegan breakfast favorites instead (though the original all day breakfast spot is equally as popular and often just as busy). According to owners Elin and Hannah, when they started Jord it was actually a quite spontaneous decision… and I know most Malmö locals would agree that we’re glad they did. It took us less than five minutes to decide that we wanted to serve breakfast all day and that everything would be plant-based!

Another vegan-yet-will-please-everyone option is light-filled café Jord. I loved the interior design, which pairs thick grey curtains with pale wooden tables, white tiles and hanging plants; there’s even a vintage sofa in the corner where you can sit back and flick through piles of magazines. The menu is varied, covering breakfast, lunch, drinks and fika, and the atmosphere is relaxed – it’s the kind of place where you could happily linger for hours.

Jord (lit. Earth) is the perfect café for anyone who's after a vegan pit-stop, who likes supporting sustainability initiatives, or who quite simply enjoys the concept of all-day breakfast. Jord sells entirely plant-based variants of popular pastries and innovative brunch dishes such as hummus with sourdough. The light and airy space is also full of verdant plants which are even available for purchase.

This picture perfect vegan café was located a bit further away from where we stayed, so we didn’t end up going until the day we left so we got ourselves a toast each to go that we could bring with us on the train. And holy guacamole – that was one of the best toasts I’ve had me entire life!. Had I known how incredibly good it would be, I’d have come to Jord earlier to try even more of their food.

Another café in Malmö is Jord which is where the hipsters of the city seem to go. It’s packed with all the trendy people so I thought the food and drinks here must be really good, but the whole experience was quite disappointing. The waitresses seemed quite arrogant and were somehow quite annoyed that they were at work (I mean, I get it, but is is the customers’ fault that you’re there?).

Light streams in through the glass windows which make up two of sides of the long rectangular rooms, where a mostly young crowd (early 20s to early 30s) chat, type, or plot their film scripts in expensive looking notebooks. The food is vegan or vegetarian, with an all-day breakfast buffet featuring imaginative healthy fare such as "carrot cake porridge".

Playing makes you hungry and so we went to JORD for a late lunch, very close to the park. A cafe just the way I like it, not only because of its nice interior. Breakfast is served all day, they have savory bowls, sandwiches, sweet pastries and homemade kombucha.
