Reviews Summary

Lilla Kafferosteriet is celebrated for its exceptional coffee and delectable pastries, especially the renowned carrot cake. Diners praise the cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and the charming courtyard. While most experiences are highly positive, some reviews mention slow service during busy periods and one noted the toilets were not well-maintained.

"One of the best spots for coffee lovers in Central Malmo.
I’ve been here several times—whether it’s for a simple breakfast or a relaxing afternoon fika, it never disappoints.
The decor has a simple vintage vibe that feels cozy and welcoming.
They offer a great variety of coffee options, and the cake selection is always tempting. With outdoor seating available during the summer, it’s the perfect place to sit back and enjoy. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!"

Yulia Esterlita

"The coffee here is extraordinary and the atmosphere in the backyard is also very nice, a lot of people but not in a loud way, more in a family-like way. I can also recommend the hot chocolate (also in the summer), it’s amazing. The chocolate cake was very good too."

Jonas Lerch

"Excellent Swedish kladdkaka chocolate cake. Very good cappuccino.

Very nice seating area. The street is relatively less noisy than the main square area.

Very good service. The place had lots of guests at the time.

Highly recommended!"

How To Visit Malm If You've Only Got One Day

For an impressive fika (the Swedish word for coffee and a chat), head south from St Peter’s (taking a detour via Lilla Torg) to reach Lilla Kafferosteriet. The coffee roastery based in Claus Mortensen’s house – a 17th-century townhouse belonging to the Reformation-era priest – serves baked goods from fika heavyweights like Olof Viktors, St Jakobs Stenugns Bakery, Patisserie Katarina, Joel Lindqvist and Madame Marzipan, alongside its superior coffee.

Where To Eat In Malmö Sweden 2023

LILLA KAFFEROSTERIET is my favorite place in the city for a nice coffee (I am addicted to yellow pea milk now!) and a kanelbullar (cinnamon bun) or other pastry for fika which, summed up, is the traditional Swedish afternoon break. They have a lovely outside area to just bask in the sun away from the hustle and bustle of the busy street. Their vintage chic interior is so wholesome and many vegans like to stop by to grab a breakfast sandwich here too.
