What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bar Agrikultur is praised for its inventive and delicious food, showcasing high-quality seasonal Swedish produce with creativity. Many highlight the cozy ambiance and friendly staff, making for a delightful dining experience. However, some diners have found the portions to be small for the price, and a few have reported issues with service, describing it as rude or arrogant, and a significant wait despite having reservations.
"Had an amazing birthday dinner here! The cheese balls are a must-try, but also the paksoi with crab was absolutely next level, a fingerlicking delicious dish! Don’t skip the Basque cheesecake as dessert —it’s divine! Only minor downside: the red wine selection leaned a bit too acidic for our taste. But overall, a fantastic experience."
Elien Slegers
"Buzzing restaurant with a straight forward menu that showcases delicious small dishes (recommend 3-4 per person) and wine/cocktails. Seating is limited with tables close together. However, it's busy for a reason (went on a Sunday evening!) - highly recommend!"

"Food was amazing, super tasty and well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend!"

How to eat your way around the city
In Sodermalm, or SoFo, my favourite is Bar Agrikultur (small plates from £8; baragrikultur.com). It’s so tiny, they call it a “mini restaurant”, so come early, around 6-7pm. The people who run it have a Michelin-starred restaurant on the other side of the city, called Agrikultur, but this one is a lot more relaxed and very produce-driven, with small dishes such as ricotta, kohlrabi, apples and almonds.
All the Michelin Star Restaurants in Stockholm – 2022 Edition
At Agrikultur, a quaint and relaxed one Michelin star restaurant, Filip Fastén, Swedish Chef of the Year in 2014, has teamed up with chef Joel Åhlin to create an unmissable gastronomic experience. The pair serves up a fine-tuned and mouth-watering feast that celebrates the freshest, finest and most sustainably produced ingredients from selected local farms, ranches and dairies. The stylish restaurant is designed by interior architect Daniel Östman.
Things to do in Stockholm
A blink-and-you-miss-it Michelin-star restaurant with a minimalist interior, Agrikultur is all about elevating seasonal Swedish produce, especially vegetables. Chef and owner Filip Fasten (one of the youngest people in Sweden to hold a Michelin star) and his talented team cook up a daily-changing, four- or five-course tasting menu which is served in two seatings. The best seats are at the bar, in front of the wood-burning oven and open kitchen.
The Best Restaurants in Stockholm
Located in Södermalm is Bar Agrikultur, the casual little sister to the fine dining restaurant Agrikultur (which closed in 2022). The menu plays with seasonal Swedish produce, such as salt-brined cucumbers topped with smetana (sour cream) and honey. Whether you just want to drop in for a quick bite and a glass of wine (they have so many of our favorites on the list!), or stay and work your way through the meal, you’ll have a delicious evening.
9 of the Best Stockholm Restaurants, Bakeries, and Cafes
Located in Södermalm, this tiny, trendy bar serves up great wine and cocktails along with creative, frequently changing small to medium-sized plates. You’ll probably be tempted to order the cucumber dish, as art lines the wall that features photos, drawings, and paintings of this dish. It is indeed delicious with an unexpected combination of salty cucumber, creamy smetana cheese, and sweet honey.

Agrikultur draws its inspiration from organic, local, and seasonal Nordic flavors in a cozy environment where the wood stove is used both to prepare the food and spread the atmosphere. Here, the chefs decide what ends up on your plate and you are offered a ready-made menu where vegetables are often in focus. The best gin and tonic in Stockholm
Agrikultur began as a small restaurant on Roslagsgatan where fine Swedish ingredients were served in a tasting menu. Bar Agrikultur is their popular gin bar and mini restaurant on Nytorget, and you can enjoy the same experience here but in a slightly different, simpler form. You can order several small dishes to share, and they recommend accompanying them with their favourite gin.

A Foodie’s Guide to Stockholm Restaurants
High on any local foodie’s list is Agrikultur, which is actually in the northern end of Vasastan. It was also fully booked by the time we got our act together, so we visited their sister restaurant – Bar Agrikultur – on Södermalm instead. It’s a small venue with packed-in tables (but a large terrace) and a compact menu of local, seasonal sharing plates.
