If you fancy something a bit lighter, Café Pascal is one of Stockholm’s finest fika (afternoon tea) spots, but their ham and cheese croissants and egg and avocado rye rolls also make for a decent affordable brunch. For its third Stockholm address on Sturegatan, Café Pascal has yet again outdone itself. The café and coffee roastery, run by the siblings Jannet, Hosep and Arman Seropian, started as a bakery and cafe in the Vasastan neighbourhood and eventually expanded to include roasting their own coffee. The menu offers a variety of well-crafted and flavorful dishes such as grilled cheese, donburi with black rice, and a delectable range of pastries including croissants with bergamot or pistachio praline and the exquisite vanilla cream and rhubarb almond tart.

I arrived at Café Pascal, located on a quiet side street in Vasastan, at lunchtime on a sunny Saturday and it was seriously busy. The queue snaked almost to the door, but the cheerful and efficient baristas served everyone promptly and it was my turn to order in no time. There is plenty of seating inside the café, though — a combination of long, sharing tables, smaller spaces and window seats; there were also a few tables on the pavement but on such a gorgeous day, these had long since been nabbed.

Right next to the lively Odenplan square, Café Pascal is a haven of peace and an excellent place to enjoy a hot drink and its side dishes, of your choice. In 2019, this cafe won the prestigious Gulddraken Award for the best coffee in Stockholm!. Among the "must eat" of the brand, let us point out again and again the famous Kanelbulle, the avocado toast and its poached egg, the vanilla brioche topped with strawberries, the chocolate brioche, or the caramelized brioche with pear and almonds.

Café Pascal near Odenplan and its sister site Café & Bageri Pascal on Södermalm are, fittingly, the offspring of three siblings from Linköping - Hosep, Arman and Jannet Seropian. The focus of their part café, part bakery/part roastery venues lies on using the best ingredients, as witnessed in the popularity of their sourdough breads and the queues for their hand-brewed coffees. And when it comes to semlor, the standard is no different.

Café Pascal is all about high-quality ingredients and strong collaboration. They serve the finest Swedish pastries from Stockholm’s Dessert och Choklad bakery all day, and after 11am, the kitchen opens up for a wide selection of hearty brunch and lunch options. And coffee nerds, you’re in luck: having a cup here means taking a quick trip around the country, as they only serve coffee from the best Swedish roasters.

There’s a much larger restaurant alongside their cafe, but time was limited and my sights were set on our planned trip to Cafe Pascal on Skanegatan, again on Sodermalm. A good 30 minute walk, was made even more enjoyable by a mini diversion up onto the Katarina walkway, via the Katrina lift (which, by the way, most definitely didn’t smell of anything). The views it provides over the water and city were stunning.

As a last special mention, I have to say that of the coffee shops I went to- Cafe Pascal (prior blog focused on them) had my favorite cardamom buns and chocolate balls of all the coffee shops. They order them from another bakery in Stockholm and have plans to open a second shop in which they will start to bake their own pastries. (This is the bun and chocolate of the featured photo).

Café Pascal is the last café we planned to visit in Stockholm. Unfortunately, our flight didn’t allow us to follow the advice of Brian W. Jones from Dear Coffee I Love You who is a big fan of this café. We met the owners in Gothenburg though and as we asked several coffee people around Stockholm who confirmed that Café Pascal is on their list, we are confident to send you there!

Pascal is right next door to the study halls of Studentpalatset but is anything but a typical student hangout. This cafe takes pride in ethically sourced coffee beans, hand-picked from local Stockholm farms. The locals adore their robust brews, making it a must-visit spot for any coffee enthusiast. On the streets surrounding Odenplan, Vasastans main traffic hub, you'll find several cafés if you need to grab a quick coffee to go, for example, Blåbär and Café Pascal. Java Whiskers, on the other hand, is of a different breed; guests are welcome to relax with a cup of coffee and pet the cats living in this café/cat shelter.

We tried dozens of hipster coffee shops during our time in Stockholm, but Cafe Pascal was by far our favorite. The espresso was so balanced and immensely drinkable straight up, and even more delightful in a cortado. Plus, they have great food and some of the best kanelbullar (Swedish cinnamon rolls) we had in the city.

Café Pascal is a stylish café with country-style decor in Stockholm that offers delicious breakfast and treats. It has been awarded 'Gulddraken' as Stockholm's best café, and also has its own bakery which makes delicious sandwiches for breakfast.

Cafe Pascal is really cute and aesthetically pleasing with great lunch options too. It’s located right off the main square of Odenplan so it’s very easy to get to, but also far enough from the main road that you don’t feel the city rush.

I've been to Greasy Spoon in Södermalm, Café Pascal, Kafé Rang and a few others, but I don't feel like I've quite found the right gem for a birthday breakfast. I've checked out Hotel Rival's breakfast buffet – is it top-notch?

Café Pascal is one of our favorite places for coffee in Stockholm. It's one of the few cafés in town that serves hand-brewed V60 coffees. In addition to expertly brewing specialty coffee, they also roast their own beans.

Known throughout the city for its coffee - the baristas use high-quality beans and artisanal brewing methods. But be sure to visit hungry too, as the savory and sweet offerings by the counter are equally as good.

Café Pascal is said to be one of the best cafés in Stockholm and finally I went there. The place is basically located around the corner from where I live. Just to close to go to.

Current favorite: (Söder + Vasastan) CAFE Pascal | Small, lovely and family owned. This is my daughter’s current favorite and I understand why. I love the avocado toast here.
