Reviews Summary

Lillebrors bageri is a celebrated bakery, frequently lauded for its exceptional pastries, particularly its semlor and cardamom buns. Reviewers praise the high quality of ingredients and artisanal craftsmanship, often calling it one of the best bakeries worldwide. While the selection might be focused, the taste consistently exceeds expectations, making it a must-visit for pastry lovers. The main drawback is limited seating, encouraging takeaway enjoyment.

"One of my ex-boyfriends used to tell me, I look at bread as if I watch a porn movie🤗. I have some obsession with bread.
This is the best bakeries in the world, I can say this without any hesitation. As I traveled around the world for bread.
The sourdough bread here is a perfection. The airy & moist texture and deep fermented flavor. The caramelized crunch exterior. It is just perfect.
The croissant is also one of the best I had. The crunch exterior & pillowy & buttery interior.
Even the sandwich is perfect. Nothing is overpowering. Kudos to the owner and bakers❤️"

Daisy Matarazzo

"Others described Lillebrors as the best bakery in the world so I went in with high expectation. I arrived early and there was already a line forming. However, it moved quickly once they opened.

I knew that they did not offer much seating besides some benches outside, so I took my pastries and walked to a nearby park. They definitely did not disappoint!

I got a cardamom bun and two thumbprint cookies. I didn’t intend to eat everything - I really just wanted a “taste.” However, I could not help it and finished everything! Even the coffee was delicious.

I am going to say that this is a must try in Stockholm. I grabbed it on my way to Skansen and I’m so glad I did."

David Lazar

"Yummy pastries! We had a vanilla bun and a custard/blueberry puff pastry item. Honestly, the vanilla navy. Was the winner! Soft and supple, filled with flavor. The other pastry was good but it didn’t blow my mind with flavor."

Where to find the best semla in Stockholm for Fettisdagen

Lillebrors bakery in Vasastan has developed a loyal customer base since it opened in 2016, and has consistently made the “Best Of” lists each year for its semlas alone. The artisanal bakery - so named as the baker behind the success, Stefan Berg, is himself a lillebror (little brother) to a baker - prides itself on using sustainable ingredients of the highest quality. If you prefer your semla with a bit of roughage, Lillebrors’ semla will not disappoint, as a generous dose of whole pieces of almonds is sprinkled between the bun’s softer layers: an addition which practically categorises this bun as a health food.

All year-round they churn out incredible croissants, pastries, "krämbullar" (sugar-coated, vanilla cream-filled buns), and sourdough bread, and in the summer they also serve a small selection of handcrafted ice creams.
