Back in Findeln, as if in need of more culinary excellence, the newly refurbished Adler hut has re-opened for business. The stunning refit still retains mountain roots with timber much in evidence but also with a refreshing modern cut, and another deck outside to sit and stare at the majestic Matterhorn from. Traditional Swiss/Italian mountain cooking is offered with some subtle variations (eg. homemade leek spatzli with bacon and penne with truffles and ceps).

Adler Hitta is the ultimate sunny-day destination in Zermatt, bringing together lively vibes, delicious food, and stunning mountain views. Perched above the slopes, this stylish hangout exudes a laid-back beach bar atmosphere, complete with a DJ spinning upbeat tunes to set the perfect après-ski mood. Their motto, "Chill and Grill," says it all – this is a place to kick back, soak up the sun, and enjoy fantastic food in a fun and relaxed setting.

This is the third restaurant in the Findeln area – apart from Chez Vroni and Paradies – that I recommend going to if you are into quality food, and I was a first-timer here when visiting it end of January. Compared with its neighboring competitors, this mountain hut with its big terrace. is maybe a tad less glamorous and the food a bit less sophisticated.

Perched at 2200m looking across the magnificent Matterhorn, Adler Hitta is a fantastic lunch stop. It should always be considered in your route, whilst exploring the extensive ski area. Situated on the Sunnegga-Findeln ski slope during the winter, and hiking trail in the summer, the restaurant is a great place to eat out in Zermatt, snow or shine.

Live music, happy faces, good (mulled) wine, beautiful view—the Adlerhitta has it all!. If you ask anyone from the local ski-scene, many of them will tell you this is one of the best restaurants in Zermatt. So whenever you are on the Sunnegga side, the Adlerhitta is definitely worth a visit for everyone looking for a good meal and a good time!

If you are not a skier, you can still enjoy their lounge for après ski with mind-blowing views of the Matterhorn. You can hike up from Zermatt (60min) or take the funicular to Sunnegga and walk down alongside the slope (15min). It is the perfect spot on the slopes for a break with delicious drinks, good food and music.

Again, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to panoramic Cocktail terraces in Zermatt, but our personal favourite is Adler Hitta. It’s the perfect place to recharge together after a busy day of skiing or hiking.

If you are wondering about lunch you will find four restaurants in the surrounding area, including the Sunegga Buffet Bar, Restaurant Paradies and the Adler-Hitta. There is also a covered picnic area.
