Reviews Summary

The Brown Cow Pub is praised for its delicious pub fare, particularly its burgers and fries, and its fun, lively atmosphere that makes it a great spot for apres-ski. While prices are typical for Switzerland, the quality of food and service, especially from friendly staff like Johann, make it a highly recommended experience for both locals and visitors.

"All the food is delicious with good service and attentive staff. The restaurant is located below the hotel, making it convenient to get to. They play stylish music. Prices are expensive in typical Swiss style"

Nishaaa Isn.

"Brown Cow is a great spot for a delicious chicken burger! My wife and I don't drink or eat red meat so the chicken burger was our primary choice and we were not at all disappointed! The burgers were delicious, reasonably priced, and the fries were hot and crispy. A great option for chicken preferrers! The atmosphere was also quite nice. The background music was not very loud so talking was easy. We were also pleasantly surprised by passing goats through town as we ate. This is a very clean and well kept establishment. The bathrooms/water closet are located in the back, up the stairs, and to the left also when you're inside as a patron."

Parker Miller

"Everything was really good. The hotdog was juicy and flavorful. The nachos had cheese that was melted with it. The burger was also really yummy (although it was a bit too salty for me). Overall I had a yummy time here."

Where to go for Après Ski in Zermatt, Switzerland

For a very relaxed après ski experience, head to the Brown Cow Pub. It succeeds at feeling like a pub and will usually have sports on the television, so you can hang out there for hours (if you get a table, that is). The Brown Cow has a no reservations policy, so it is tricky to find a table, but there are usually a few seats open at the bar and, if you hang around for a bit, a group will eventually leave.

Lively options in the village later on are likely to include the Brown Cow, Vernissage and Papperla. Try the Pink Elephant if you’d like jazz rather than pop and rock, and Elsie's Bar (16 Kirchplatz, +41 (0)27 96 72 431; elsiebar.ch) in the church square is good for oysters and champagne. There’s also a hip club called Vernisage and the Pollux T-Bar disco. Little Bar is a great, well, little bar.

Maybe not exactly the kind of food you're looking for, but The Brown Cow pub had good food , reasonably priced (for Zermatt). Also there's an Italian restaurant across the street from it, I think it was Osteria Bella Italia which was very good, a little pricier than the pub though.
