Le Gitan Grill

It has been a few years but our favorite restaurant in Zermatt is Le Gitan Grill Room in the Darioli Hotel. Nice setting, wonderful food. The meats are cooked on a charcoal grill built in to the front wall of the dining room.

The Chef prepares flavourful roasts over a wood fire centerpiece in the candlelit main dining room, while the old-fashioned cafe in the front is there for relaxation after an exhilarating day on the slopes.

Le Gitan Grill was definitely one of the more fancier places, but also came with a higher price tag. This was the only place we had gone that had a truffle option for cheese fondue, so you bet your BOTTOM we got that one!!. I will say, it was to DIE for!

This one for the fondue lovers (their champagne fondue is a speciality). It is on the main street, in front of Le Gitan and opposite the Hotel Post. If fondue isn't your thing then they do other foods, including excellent pasta dishes.
