What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fu Kuei Ting is celebrated for its authentic Taiwanese flavors, particularly its signature smoked goose and goose noodle soup, often recognized by Michelin. While many rave about the delicious and affordable food, some diners mention that the service can be rushed or impolite due to the restaurant's popularity and small size. The ambiance is casual and local, with a focus on the food experience.
"This restaurant gets pretty popular during prime time hours since it holds quite a collection of Michelin bib gourmand awards. The workers are quite rude and impatient with the customers, but such is the case for a lot of these busy street style restaurants. They sat us (a group of 3) at a large table and then rudely told us to move once they saw a larger group come in.
The goose meats here hold incredible flavor and is a must try. We ordered it with just meat as well as in a soup. The blood rice cakes are also popular as well.
Prices are super affordable (at least compared to American restaurants)!"

"Fu Kuei Ting is a must-visit for anyone craving expertly roasted goose and silky noodles in Taichung. This Michelin-recognized spot delivers on both quality and flavor, making it well worth the visit.
The roasted goose is the undeniable star—perfectly crisp skin, tender and juicy meat, with just the right amount of smokiness. It’s served with a rich, flavorful dipping sauce that complements the natural taste of the goose without overpowering it. The handmade noodles are equally impressive, with a smooth, bouncy texture that pairs beautifully with the light yet deeply savory broth.
For those who appreciate quality roasted meats, Fu Kuei Ting is a standout. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this spot deserves a place on your food itinerary in Taichung."

"Recommended by a friend, came in with little expectations and my mind was blown away. Their smoked goose is the absolute best and their mee sua in Angelica duck soup is silky, delicious, and substantial as well. Vegetables and bamboo shoots were done well too, overall a very satisfying meal and I would highly recommend anyone to come visit if you're in Taichung."
