What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Origin Tofu Pudding is celebrated for its incredibly smooth and refreshing tofu pudding, often praised for its delicate texture and customizable toppings. While many appreciate the traditional flavors and quick service, some find the taste a bit bland or prefer stronger regional variations. The shop's simple setup and retro charm add to its appeal, though seating is limited.
"This was a nice and refreshing dessert after having dinner on a hot evening. I came right before closing and there was no line. This was the first time having this dessert and all the jellies and toppings fit so well with the ice and sweet soup/light syrup. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this on your next trip to Taipei."

"Not hard to find the shop, it is located on the corner of the intersection. The tofu dessert is refreshing and completed our mission on visiting Taipei (boba tea, hotpot, and tofu dessert). Just bought them, there are small tables and chairs to sit on the side of the street. I might try the fried stingy tofu next visit to Taipei though."

"We were curious about Origin Tofu Pudding and queued the night before, but unfortunately it's sold out when we got to the front line.
So the next day we queued again and we got the chance to try it.
The tofu pudding was soft, complemented with the taro balls, red bean & the hot soup.
But i think the taste was a bit bland; the soup and the taro balls.
I was expecting strong flavored (gingery) soup and sweet taro balls. So i was a bit dissapointed.
The tofu pudding had strong tofu smell which i didn't quite like.
Probably i expected too much because we queued for quite some time and it's not our first try as well.
There were no seating, so we ate while standing up, across the street."

Okay, so it’s mostly takeaway and only has a few seats outside to chow down on the fruit-topped tofu pudding this tiny shop in Ximending is famous for, but the food is not the reason this is on my list of cute cafes in Taipei. Instead, you’re going to see their absolutely adorable corgi who loves to poke his head out of a cat flap on the shop’s door and watch the world go by. View this post on Instagram
