“Experiential, subversive and submerged, Gaggan is industrial and heavy with mood. The dining room’s teal and red neon glow ricochets off bare concrete and steel mesh. A chef’s prep station takes centre stage. Maybe it’s a prep station, maybe it’s an underground S&M room; frankly, it could be an abattoir and this, an autopsy. Maybe it’s mine.” A snippet from a review of Gaggan. Check out the link ...

Prepare for an Immersive Show

This is not a quiet dinner; expect loud music and an energetic, interactive performance.

It's Worth the Price

While pricey, the unique culinary and theatrical experience is considered worth every penny.

Still processing the experience at Gaggan Restaurant was it a show, was it fine-dining, was it all just a showcase of techniques, teamwork and musical knowledge? Was it a master class in wine pairing? Was it everything at once? Still not sure but I’d definitely do it all over again 🙌🏼 #bangkok

What Travellers Say

Reviews Summary

Gaggan is consistently lauded as an exceptional, multi-sensory dining experience that pushes culinary boundaries. Diners rave about the creativity, unique flavors, and theatrical presentation, often calling it a life-changing meal. However, some find the high-energy, music-driven atmosphere overwhelming and prefer a more traditional fine-dining setting.

"What a blast! Gaggan has changed our expectations of fine dining for us forever. They do not just cook, serve and explain the dish. They perform a whole concert!

Everything is very hands-on and interactive. Each dish had a different, unique taste

We were blown away by the taste, presentation and the work that they put into each creative dish.

We really hadn’t known what we had got into, when we made a reservation at Gaggan, but this was definitely the best fine dining experience so far.

It is pricey but oh so worth it. Will be back when we visit Thailand again."

Nathalie K

"Mixed thoughts on our visit here. The service and food is absolutely outstanding, no doubt. The team has put in a lot of thought into developing the menu in a very unique way, with a story behind each dish. The wine pairing was on the money for each dish. Loved the community style eating with Gaggan and the staff engaging with everyone during the meal.
The only thing I found overwhelming was the music and clapping - it felt like a cheap Arabian Nights type show - that's not what I expected from this restaurant, which is supposed to be fine dining. That said, I understand that while Gaggan was preparing the last dish, the staff needed something to keep the diners engaged - but music and clapping? Just made it feel like a cheap theatric parlor trick. That said, Gaggan did say at the beginning of the meal that this was all about chaos - and that's exactly what this felt like!
Overall a lovely dining experience, could've been better had it been less loud, and more controlled. But that's a personal preference. If you're visiting Bangkok, you kinda have to try to get a reservation here. Price tag is not that crazy considering how much you would pay for Michelin star restaurants in other parts of the world!"

Anuj Goel

"Fantastic experience! Worth the wait, the travel and money. Each and every plate was very well studied and put together. And not at all what you would have thought. Mind blowing creativity of massive team of talented professionals. Loved the music too."

The best Indian restaurants in Bangkok

Number one on the list of Asia’s Best 50 Restaurants for 2016, Gaggan offers one of the best and most enjoyable Indian dining experiences you could have in Bangkok. Chef Gaggan Anand honed his skills in molecular gastronomy at famous three Michelin-star restaurant El Bulli, and has developed what he calls “progressive Indian cuisine.” Tucked within Langsuan, the white, two-story house is a pleasant and modest contrast to their innovative alchemic cooking style. The Chef Dining area (which is always reserved) sits right next to the kitchen’s glass window, offering diners a view of how the chefs prepare each molecular dish.
