Reviews Summary
Paste Bangkok is celebrated for its innovative royal Thai cuisine and exquisite presentations, often described as a Michelin-star experience. Diners rave about the unique flavors, attentive service, and sophisticated ambiance. However, some reviews suggest that the food may be slightly overrated for the price, and there have been instances of issues with accommodating dietary restrictions.
"Paste is hands down one of the most mind-blowing and awe-inspiring restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. From start to finish, every aspect of the experience was nothing short of spectacular. The chef’s ability to craft dishes with such unique, bold flavors that still complement each other perfectly is truly impressive. It’s no wonder the reservation process is a challenge—this restaurant has earned its stellar reputation in the culinary world.
I highly recommend trying just about everything on the menu—seriously, you can’t go wrong. From the appetizers to the entrees and even the desserts, each dish is not only a visual masterpiece but also a delight to the taste buds. The quality of the food is matched only by the exceptional customer service, which makes for a truly unforgettable dining experience.
If you haven’t been to Paste yet, what are you waiting for? We left completely in awe and I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. It’s the kind of place where both the food and the service are so perfectly in sync, it’ll leave you wondering how they manage to pull it off. Definitely worth every baht."

"Every now and then we all need to experience something unique like a tasting menu.
Paste has a very nice posh atmosphere and the outdoor view at night is really amazing.
The service is great. The staff was always very attentive, took the time to explain each dish, answered any of my questions, and was very friendly.
The food was great and very satisfying. What I really enjoyed is how every dish is unique, but you can tell how each dish is built on the foundation of traditional Thai cuisine. A very unique and enjoyable experience."

"The service stood out the most at Paste. From the very beginning we had the most attentive service from our waiters. I really enjoyed our dining experience. We were offered complementary starters and dessert from the chef which felt very special. We ordered the beef Hang Lay curry and crab omelet. The beef was falling apart to perfection. I enjoyed the crab omelet but I would not order it again.
I also love how private our booth was, it felt like we were dining completely alone."

They moved to Australia and opened an award-winning classical Thai restaurant but eventually came back to Bangkok to develop Paste, the critically-acclaimed dining room that merges authentic Thai flavors with innovative techniques. Apart from researching ancient recipes, Bee and Jason often travel throughout the country in search of the best local ingredients. A recent trip to a remote village in Northern Thailand revealed cooking secrets from the Shan minority, and led to the pair reinventing traditional dishes such as the original version of khao soi and stir-fried fiddlehead fern with cured pork.

Bangkok Thai Food Restaurants: 10Best Restaurant Reviews
Classic Thai food is renowned world over, yet rarely does one find it presented in such an innovative way as at Paste. Paste Bangkok is the brainchild of Australian award winning chef Jason Bailey and his Thai partner Bongkoch "Bee" Satongun, who received acclaim for their Thai restaurants in Australia and have now relocated to Bangkok, bringing creative and healthy food with them. Bailey now focuses on the business end and projects for Paste, while Satongun runs the kitchen, focusing on original Thai flavors and textures, with ingredients sourced fresh from the grower and best markets in the country.

Rather than spend the last two years basking in Paste's international stardom, chef-owners Bee Satongun and Jason Bailey have been expanding their devoutly authentic approach to southeast Asian cuisine into Laos. Here in Bangkok, their Gaysorn showpiece remains a must-visit ticket for any serious foodie. Across increasingly sophisticated tasting menus, the chefs introduce a plethora of rare herbs and ingredients: from edible hummingbird flowers in your smoky southern yellow curry with red spanner crab, all the way down to salt from Nan province that they say is smoother than sea salt.
4 Bangkok female chefs cooking Thai food like you’ve never imagined
I believe a dish without history is a dish without soul,” proclaims Bee, Asia’s Best Female Chef 2018 and chef of Michelin-starred restaurant Paste. Like her culinary peers, among them Bo.lan’s chef Bo and nahm’s chef Pim, Bee and her husband and co-chef Jason Bailey have spent endless hours studying old recipe books from the mid- to late-1800s, then finding their own point of view to recreate the dish for a modern palette. “I always respect the person who created the dish before me, then I try to interpret what they want to communicate through the dish,” she says.

Paste is one of my favorite restaurants in Bangkok for high end Thai cuisine. They serve a style called “modern Thai,” with an aim to serve Thai food in a modern way, but sticking with traditional Thai ingredients and not going towards fusion, which many higher end Thai restaurants tend to do. One of the signature dishes at Paste is the master stock poached organic pork (หมูตุ๋นเสริฟ์กับเกรฟฟรุ๊ตและดอกไม้ไทย), a delicious dish of tender pork.
