The original Akha Ama Coffee Shop in Phra Sing subdistrict was housed in a corner shophouse within the same commercial building. The business expanded from one to two shophouses as a result of the contract’s expiration, moving to shophouses in the middle. Reviews Summary

Akha Ama Phrasingh is highly praised for its exceptional coffee, sourcing unique local beans and expertly preparing each cup. Reviewers love the stylish industrial-chic ambiance and the cafe's mission to support the Akha hill tribe community. While most experiences are positive, some mention minor warmth issues in certain seating areas.

"Order special honey and orange peel cold brew, hot hand drip coffee, coffee jelly and carrot cheese cake, I bought few of drip bag coffee in order to use credit card to pay.

Under 500 thai dollars need to pay cash.

We loved the orange peel cold brew and hand drip, forgot what single origin beans i chose but its fruity and smooth.

We enjoyed sitting up to watch down the coffee bar, like the big U design table, very cool. Definitely recommend people to visit this place."

Jo L

"This cafe offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a quiet break. The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee immediately shows their commitment to quality.

The coffee is excellent, with an impressive selection of single-origin beans from various regions, which are also available for purchase. It's a fantastic place to explore different flavor profiles.

The seating is spacious and comfortable, though the second floor, lit by a lovely sunroof, can get a bit warm during sunny periods. Service was prompt and friendly, making for a seamless visit.

Overall, this is a standout spot for any coffee lover. With its combination of great drinks, a relaxing environment, and excellent service, I highly recommend it and will definitely be back."

A T

"Enjoyed our coffee experience here with their home grown beans, great service and coffee offerings. The ambiance of the place also stands out with its industrial and brick layered interiors. One of the better options for coffee within the old city."

Where to get good coffee in Chiang Mai

Akha Ama Coffee is one of the most beloved and ethically minded coffee shops in Chiang Mai. It’s also a really good coffee – because we know despite all the amazing things that can be done, if the brew was not good, then it wouldn’t make this list. Founded by Lee Ayu Chuepa, an Akha hilltribe member himself, Akha Ama serves up locally sourced coffee of both single and blended origins, ensuring that every bean roasted and served is sourced from sustainable farming practices that provide fair trade opportunities for local coffee farmers.
