What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Blue Ox is praised for its high-quality Western dishes, particularly steaks and ribs, and its pleasant garden ambiance with occasional live music. While many find the food and atmosphere excellent, some have noted that the focus on 'mixology' has altered the laid-back bar scene, and minor service issues like slow refills or rushed courses have been mentioned.
"This place is incredible! Very recommended! The meat is great and the pasta is wonderful! Such a chill vibe and you feel separated from the loud street! Such a nice vibe and relaxing music. All the employees here were so polite and welcoming :) thank you very much. Quality food, service, location and atmosphere."

"Restaurant at Pai Village Resort, really nice place to sit and the food was tasty. Probably a bit more expensive than most places around it but worth it if you'd like to have a relaxed evening in a nice setting. They have a variety of local and international dishes, all looked good. Usually have a singer for entertainment."

"I’m currently staying at the resort where The Blue Ox Steak House is located, and decided to stop by after noticing how delicious the food looked when I arrived yesterday. Compared to street food, the prices are a bit higher, but still very reasonable—especially considering the high quality of the dishes served.
While there were a few minor things that could be improved, they were hardly noticeable given the overall value. The food came out impressively fast, which makes it a great option even if you’re short on time.
A special shoutout to Tum, who was in charge of my table. He was not only prompt and attentive, but also incredibly kind and detail-oriented. While Thai people are generally friendly, Tum stood out even more—he definitely deserves some recognition from the team.
Between the house wines, I preferred the white over the red. It’s also worth noting that they seem to have live music starting around 7:30 PM, adding a nice touch to the evening ambiance.
Since the seating is outdoors, you might see the occasional street cat or mosquito, but that’s common across most places in Pai and didn’t bother me at all.
Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely consider coming back!"
