"Food was good. Views are one of a kind. Initial service was lacking. Seated and not given menus or stopped on by a wait staff for at least ten minutes. After this, we were better attended to. Steak fajitas were steaming hot as served. Beef enchiladas were good, and their rice tastes extra soft and buttery with great flavor. Margarita was great too, but tequila sunrise didn't taste like it had much alcohol."

Our destination was located where the Sonoran desert meets the Sea of Cortez, 65 miles south of the U.S./Mexican border at Lukeville, AZ. The name Puerto Peñasco derives from 19th century maps drafted by Lieutenant William Hardy, who visited the region to scout for potential pearl fisheries. Lt. Hardy dubbed the area “Rocky Point”, after the prominent rocky basaltic headland that pinpoints the town today.

Restaurants in Rocky Point: The Best Food in Puerto Peñasco
The Point is a colofully eye-catching establishment on stilts over the water. It’s three-stories, with patios that wrap around different parts of all three floors. The flounder with shrimp (the chef’s special) is highly recommended.
Great experience both times and we even had our picture hand drawn while we waited $10. The first time we had Mariachi come sing with us. This is the best place if you want an amazing view.

The Point Restaurant is also amazing being ranked near the top. Another good option is Lucky’s Cantina, among others on the main drag downtown to have some good food and great sunset views.
