Hudson Steakhouse is celebrated for its tender, perfectly cooked steaks and delightful ambiance, featuring open fires and a cozy Victorian pub setting. Many praise the friendly service and generous portions, with specific mentions of delicious sides and desserts. However, some diners have experienced issues with steaks being overcooked and tasting like charcoal, and found the cocktails to be weak.

"Best steakhouse in Bath. Always delicious food, good atmosphere and top notch service from staff. Can’t recommend Hudsons enough. Always my go to for the perfect steak in Bath. If you haven’t been yet, you are honestly missing out. Already looking forward to coming back again soon!"

"So worth the price! Steaks were juicy and fresh, so tasty. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Almost too big a portion and delicious. Service was super friendly and efficient! Highly recommend."

Mariya Pugacheva

"Friendly staff. The set menu is pretty good. Steak was not bad and the sides were top notch. The jus/gravy was to die for. House wine with the set menu was excellent, well chosen whoever was responsible. Quick service."

10 Best Steak Restaurants in Bath in 2024

Worth the walk up Walcot Street, Hudson Steakhouse opened back in 2005, taking over the once notorious Victorian Hat & Feather pub. Now it’s popular with locals and visitors– if you’re from out of town you’ll find that lots of hotel concierges recommend here as a top spot, so make sure you book ahead for a reservation, even though they try to leave room for walk-ins, too. Simple but stylish inside, it retains the atmosphere of an old pub with dark wood, huge mirrors, and romantic candles in the evening.
