Reviews Summary

Montagu's Mews offers a delightful dining experience, particularly lauded for its exquisite afternoon tea and tasting menus. Guests rave about the exceptional service, the beautiful garden setting, and the high quality of the food, with many appreciating the flexibility for dietary modifications. While generally praised, some mention the champagne cream tea can be pricey.

"The “Classic Tasting Menu” was delicious and the menu able to be modified to be gluten free. Mackerel, lobster, beef, strawberries were featured. Wine pairings were complementary. Lovely live music jazz, Garden backyard at the Royal Crescent, made for sensational evening."

Susan Williams

"A fabulous afternoon tea experience with our first visit to Bath! Some of the best scones we’ve ever had and were so light and fresh, with the Bath buns still being slightly warm in the middle!

Exquisite bites of cake and pastry and the finger sandwiches were divine too.

Cannot recommend the afternoon tea enough and the service was superb too!"

Emily Stokes

"Atmosphere and service was what you would expect from an establishment like the Royal Crescent Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. I really appreciated the option of hot chocolate or coffee for non tea drinkers. Scones were served warm and the sandwiches were very fresh and the bread so moist and delicious. Desserts were visually pleasing with a taste to match! When we return to Bath, this place will be our first stop!"

16 Best Restaurants in Bath, Picked By Local Writers

Creative, contemporary classics that are almost – almost – too beautiful to eat. Part of The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa, but open to bookings from people not staying at the hotel, Montagu’s Mews is unarguably one of the city’s most stylish restaurants (we especially love the pink-on-pink-on-pink room). But whether its Afternoon Tea or evening dining, the food seriously rivals the décor in terms of beauty.

18 Things to See and Do in Bath, England

The Georgian architecture in Bath is so beautiful, and the Royal Crescent is a fine example of this. It’s a very photogenic spot — so much so it’s been captured in numerous period films, including Northanger Abbey and The Duchess. The Royal Crescent is also home to the Featheringtons’ fictitious home in Bridgerton.
