Reviews Summary

Robun offers a highly-rated contemporary Japanese dining experience, praised for its beautifully presented and delicious dishes, from sushi to grilled items. While many enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and attentive service, some reviews mention higher prices and inconsistent service experiences.

"Amazing Food and Service!

The food here is absolutely delicious. I had the tasting menu. The fish was super fresh and just melted in my mouth. The black cod was perfectly cooked, flaking beautifully, and the miso soup was surprisingly one of my favorites—it was outstanding!

Naomi, our waitress, was excellent. She gave great recommendations and made sure everything was served with a great pacing.

I’ll definitely be coming back!"

"We had our anniversary meal there on a Saturday night. My husband must have put it in our reservation as our server mentioned it which I thought was a nice considerate touch.
The food came quickly & was delicious, we weren’t that hungry but demolished it all very quickly.
We did opt for pudding, mochi & the cheesecake, both very tasty & a good size to finish the meal.
I had a mocktail & it was tasty though a little strong, like squash that hadn’t been diluted enough.
I did get a little cold as the evening progressed, I think we were right in the movement of the air conditioning but I’d rather than than be too hot.
It’s not cheap but the quality is definitely worth the price.
Definitely recommend 👍👍"

Hannah Fleming-Hill

"Amazing experience at Robun, from the atmosphere to cocktails to food and service everything was great. We ordered to our hearts content and enjoyed all the food, the kimchi fried rice and takoyaki are a must have. Definitely will be back."

Restaurants in Bath | 5 of the best

The George Street gem is named after Kangaki Robun, a Japanese author whose book introduced the concept of yakiniku – the art of grilling meat, seafood and vegetables over traditional charcoal fire – to Japan in 1872. At this well-loved Bath restaurant, Robun’s head chef Kasae Fraser has picked up the yakiniku baton and accompanied it with other Japanese staples such as sushi and sashimi, plus a drinks list headlined by sake, Japanese whiskies and cocktails. Perched between lunchtime bento boxes, ramen and katsu, and an extensive dinner menu (including a set menu of three courses for £26.50), is Robun’s unusual take on afternoon tea.
