The friendly and attentive staff contribute to a warm, welcoming atmosphere. "I booked The Barking Dog for my anniversary dinner with my husband. Booking a table was super easy and I was able to add in the comments that I needed their gluten free menu. When I arrived, the gluten free menu was there waiting on me, no awkwardness at all! This proved to me that the staff in the Barking Dog read the comments sent in with booking, unlike other restaurants I've been to in Belfast. The staff were amazing the whole night, very attentive and had a laugh with us. The food was outstanding, I cannot recommend it highly enough. From tapas starter, to dessert, everything was perfect. Gorgeous atmosphere to top it all off. 10/10 highly recommend."

"Good food, great service and the staff are very friendly. Last time I was here (almost 3 years ago) I've been enjoying it so much, this time though it was OK but I was not amazed by the food at all, it was good but definitely did not meet my expectations.
The Tapas starters was very nice, our mains was alright, yet again not amazing as expected.
Definitely would recommend to pop in for a nice meal as it's one of the best restaurants in Belfast."

"Excellent food and good service. Very busy Friday night venue. Staff are very friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. Lovely cocktail list for a pre-dinner drink, good selection of wine. Shin of Beef Burger was something else, highly recommend it. Desserts were outstanding too. Very good value for money give the quality of food."

Top Restaurants In Belfast, Northern Ireland
This restaurant is a millennial take on the posh restaurant. The interior is dimly lit with handmade candles, the food arrives on a wooden board and the outdoor seating is a treat, on the side of Malone Road, Belfast’s most affluent (and student filled) area. The food is a mix of modern flavour and traditional dining, with menu options including salt and pepper scampi, creamy lemon bacon pasta, an odd twist on classic linguini (served with black tagliatelle) and a cheeseboard to share with friends.

Chef Michael O’Connor claims to do the best burger in Belfast and it’s hard to argue when the tender beef-shin patty and glorious horseradish mayo is this blow-the-trumpets tasty. Elsewhere on the menu at this casual, reliably filling gastropub can be found elevated generously sized plates of salt-and-pepper scampi or pan-seared duck breast with heritage beetroot. A doubly solid option for a slow Sunday lunch.
