"First time at The Lantern for my husband and me. This was a memorable evening out...tasty food with fresh produce. Cod on sweet potato with champ, French beans and broccoli spears was delicious. Sticky toffee pudding made a great sharing pudding to finish the meal.

"First time visit. Friendly waiting staff and reasonably priced food and drinks. Food was mostly fine. I order duck for main and when I wasn't asked how I liked it cooked I specified pink and was told that's how they serve it. Unfortunately the duck was a bit overdone."

"The restaurant from the front looks a bit dilapidated. Inside is a bit better but I think it's definitely time for a refurbish! That said, the meal was really good! We opted to skip the appetizers as most of them were fried. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the seabass. We ordered some wine and beer and got side salads with our entrees. The salad were good and simple. Both the fishes were really good. The dishes looked great and tasted super fresh and very well done! We opted against the dessert. The meal overall was very good!"

I found this restaurant on Google maps because it was close to the Opera House where I was going after the meal and it catered for gluten free people which my friend is On entering the restaurant I was greeted by one of the staff who showed me and my friend to the table. We chose from the Pre Theatre menu at £29.50 for 3 courses plus £5.75 for a glass of house red wine. I ordered leek and potato soup with bread, for the main course I ordered a 6oz Irish beef burger with bacon and cheese, chunky chips and a rocket salad, then apple crumble and ice cream....
