There’s little else to be said about Bonehead other than it is Birmingham’s best fried chicken – hands down. This effortlessly cool chicken joint near New Street station attracts fried chicken fans from all over the country to devour its wares, and despite its speciality being succulent chicken, its sauces aren’t far behind. Think: hot wings, sriracha honey butter burger dressing and blue cheese tater tots.

Tucked in behind New Street station, the black-clad Bonehead has a rock bar vibe (heavy metal memorabilia, street art, craft beers, cool, grungy-alternative music), and a stellar rep for its buttermilk fried chicken. Think: juicy poultry encased in crisp, light 'original' or 'Nashville hot' coatings, deftly layered with vibrant flavours. Tenders can be dipped in sauces from lime aioli to ranch dressing, while the chicken thigh burgers include various additions and glazes, such as bourbon BBQ or sriracha honey.

Not because they’d have nothing to eat (there’s a cauliflower burger and cauliflower wings on the menu) but because the mere sight of one of their loaded fried chicken burgers will be enough to make even the strictest vegan reconsider their stance on eating meat.

Even Robyn loved this spot, despite beer not being her favourite!. This outfit in the city centre really does it to perfection, in a grungy, dive-bar kind of way (if you know what we mean 😂). So if you want wings, strips or burgers dipped in a winningly crispy batter that has extra flavour, Bonehead is the place to go.

Birmingham’s Bonehead isn’t your average fried chicken joint. This funky, low-key spot serves up seriously good eats, like their signature “Bonehead” burger, a towering masterpiece of crispy chicken, melty cheese, and tangy pickles. But Bonehead’s magic goes beyond just the food.

Everyone lost their marbles when Bonehead finally opened in March, and for pretty good reason. As well as juicy chicken burgers the team knock out some seriously filthy chicken wings. Various sauces and dips are available; the Buffalo Soldiers are ridiculous.

The much lauded fried chicken restaurant, has announced it will soon be available on UberEats and click and collect via the website. There are no details on exactly when but the restaurant has teased an opening very soon.

The best fried chicken in Birmingham award isn’t a difficult one to attain, but it is one that Bonehead has ran away with. Free range birds, brittle batters, served from a concise menu in a dive bar setting.

If you’re looking for the best chicken in Birmingham, this is the place to go. The food here is absolutely incredible and the staff are great too. Can’t recommend this place enough, everything was spot on!

Airs and graces are shunned here in favour of fried chicken and freshly poured craft beers. A great place to bring a group of mates, Bonehead also does a solid line in loaded tater tots.

I usually get the burgers or the strips with a side of Nashville fries. If I'm feeling brave I'll get a pickleback too, but they are punchy!
