Serving up the best coffee in the whole of the town, this Bournemouth landmark is a local favourite. The lattes are deliciously creamy, the atmosphere lively and buzzing, and the staff welcoming. Boscanova’s outdoor seating offers a wonderful space for sitting and soaking up the Bournemouth atmosphere while watching the world go by over a generous plateful of tasty treats.

Unfortunately I didn’t get to try this one myself as it’s in a neighbouring town of Bournemouth pier called Boscombe which was only about a 6 minute drive, but as I was travelling with 5 people, and you cannot make a reservation, we didn’t want to risk it. Especially as it was bank holiday Monday and the last day of Rishi Sunak’s Eat Out To Help Out scheme. Perhaps if we were there for another day, we could have visited this area as there is also a pier here, but we wanted to see more of the main part of Bournemeouth before we left.

I discovered Cafe Boscanova not while searching for vegetarian and vegan cafes in and around Bournemouth, but for a delicious looking place to have pancakes for breakfast. Touted on TripAdvisor as the best pancakes in all of Dorset, the pancakes here are fat and fluffy with a salty and sweet after taste – I definitely recommend the blueberry pancake stack. After a first visit, Cafe Boscanova fast became my favourite breakfast place.

Another cafe further along in the pedestrianised centre of Boscombe with more interesting food options is Boscanova – very groovy menu if you enjoy being a bit more adventurous i.e. are bored with sandwiches or pies for lunch etc.
