Diners frequently highlight the exceptional service from a friendly and attentive staff who make the dining experience memorable. While some find the spice levels milder than expected or some kid's dishes bland, the overall consensus points to a highly recommended establishment for both its food and welcoming atmosphere.
"My favourite restaurant in Bradford and one of my favourites in general. When we travel and dine in similar restaurants in other cities, I always tell to my partner that we could have bought better food for less at International 😂 The food is fresh, always tasty, large portions, good value for the money, the atmosphere is relaxed and the service is impeccable. The lovely staff is always welcoming, they never rush you and they pay attention to every single detail. Dining at International is not only a culinary delight, but also a very agreeable social experience. I highly recommend it."

The best budget eats in Bradford | Food
The channa murgh that I ate at International, for instance, was one of the nicest things I have tasted in some time, while the "donners" at Shimla's ("We don't do fast food, we do good food as fast as we can.") entirely recalibrate what we should expect, and demand, of the British high street kebab. Prashad, meanwhile, is about as sophisticated a flavour experience as you're likely to get in this country, at the sub £10-a-head price point. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Trip Advisor reveals 10 of Bradford's best reviewed restaurants
Example of Trip Advisor reviews: Nicola O, five stars: "My daughter and I both ate an excellent scallop risotto, followed by a delicious meaty halibut steak with a lobster bisque - paired with a decent white Burgundy. Our guest enjoyed chicken skewers, followed by a robust and generous dish of pork - presented three ways, all paired with a golden Yorkshire ale. Beautiful ingredients - exceptional sauces. The pastry chef produced three gentle and generous deserts - delicious. £50 a head - all in - brilliant price point. Front of house - absolutely charming. Well done Team Waterfront and thank you.
A Cultured Night In Bradford....
I had decided to go for a curry at the International, one of the original family-run restaurants in the city, which I had never actually visited before. I walked back over towards the Alhambra and headed up Morley Street, passing another of the originals, the Kashmir, where I have been many times over the years. A little further up the hill at the gable end of a row of terraced houses I came to the International, where there was a bit of a queue to get in - I should have tried to get their earlier, but the beer had been good.
Review of The International , Bradford, West Yorkshire
The International has retained a cult standing since 1976 and it's still family run. There is little secret to its success: reliably good, freshly cooked, homely food served in a lively, modern but unpretentious setting at exceptionally good-value prices. Plus waiting staff who welcome you in as part of The International family with jolly smiles and service that is speedy, helpful and patient when you’re wavering over what to choose.
