Reviews Summary

Bosco Pizzeria is celebrated for its unique wood-fired pizzas that skillfully blend Neapolitan and New York styles, with many praising the authentic Italian flavors and delicious starters like arancini. While the quality of food, especially the tiramisu, receives high marks, some diners note that service can be slow during peak hours. The ambiance is generally considered good, making it a recommended spot for pizza lovers.

"This was our first time visiting this restaurant, though we have previously dined at their other location in Clifton near Prince Victoria Street.

The setting is lovely, but let’s talk about the food. Some dishes were visually stunning and packed with flavor, while others were just okay. We tried the Carbonara, which I personally loved, though some of my family members weren’t as keen on it.

For starters, we had the arancini, which were absolutely delicious. As for dessert—oh my God—the tiramisu was hands down the best I’ve had. It’s a bit fluffier than usual, but I loved it. Definitely a must-try! We also had the Italian donuts, which were very enjoyable.

Service was decent but could use some improvement. One issue was the delay in receiving our dessert—it took quite a while after we ordered, which isn’t ideal. Ideally, desserts should arrive within 7-10 minutes to keep the dining experience smooth.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend visiting, and whatever you do, don’t skip the tiramisu!"

Chrysanthos George Makariou (Chris)

"Discretionary service charge and now automatically adding charity donations on to the bill. When does this madness end? The service was average at best. No visit during my meal to ask for additional drinks, I had to go to the bar and request to pay my bill and also request a take away box to take home my remaining pizza. I’d ordinarily have sympathy but the place was about 10% full on a Friday afternoon with the staff having a good old chat behind the bar. I won’t be returning."

Gurminder Phull

"I come here as part of a work group for lunch, the set menu is a grate offer and good value for money. As a large group we was all happy that our food all come out together with no delay in the special requests for dietary needs too. Service was friendly, always making sure we had what we needed, always happy to help and made sure we ws looked after through out our meal. The food was of a very good quality, perfect quantity and presented very well. Some of us had cocktails and they were very tasty too. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back again"

Where Is The Best Pizza In Bristol?

Drawing inspiration from both New York and Naples, Bosco Pizzeria in Bristol slings out wood-fired pizzas that deftly manage to straddle both the puffy edges of a Neapolitan dough with the crisper base of its American cousin across the pond. Opened in 2014 on Whiteladies Road with a second following in Clifton Village, Bosco has also expanded to Cheltenham and Bath, the latter’s Milsom Place opening in August of 2021 winning the ‘Best New Restaurant’ award at the Crescent Club awards just a year later. Bosco’s founder, Miles Johnson, was inspired by holidays to Italy and the ingredient-led clarity of Italian cooking and the culture of family dining, and that passion is reflected in the beautiful simplicity of the pizzas, whether that’s the signature Bosco, which is topped with fior di latte, tomato, olive oil and basil, or our favourite order here, the Carciofi, a glorious combination of wood fired artichokes, taleggio and green olive.

What: Imagine the perfect Neapolitan pizza - angry, blistered spots on its crust, with generous lumps of fior di latte and a rich, tangy pizza sauce, and you have painted a picture of what's on offer here. We live in an age where it's almost impossible to get your hands on a decent margherita for less than £14. The lunch set menu is pretty reasonable as well, at £17 for two courses, and they serve it right up to 6pm - perfect for early bird eaters.Must-try dish: Bosco Magherita with flor di latte, tomato, grana padana, olive oil, and basilWhere: 96 Whiteladies Road, BS8 2QXBook now: Bosco Pizzeria
