Reviews Summary

Kitch is celebrated for its delicious and healthy food, with many praising the vegan and gluten-free options. Diners love the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a welcoming spot. However, some reviews note issues with service, particularly during busy periods, with occasional order mix-ups impacting the dining experience.

"So glad we stopped in here for a breakfast treat. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious! Lovely place to stop on a sunny Saturday morning in Canterbury! Coffee was perfect and a good set of seating out front should you just wish to have a drink and watch the world go by. Would recommend."

Emma Allan

"Very busy and nice atmosphere but very let down by service.
Our order wasn’t placed to kitchen but it was only after I checked in with them that they confirmed this.
Obviously a new waitress that was learning but it just made me sad that none of the more senior colleagues were checking in with the tables she was waiting to make sure it was okay. I witnessed a few people being offered ‘free drink’ coupons - possibly due to situations like ours, but some more constructive management could lead to better outcomes and experiences for customers, as we don’t feel like returning."

NeveSummer

"Nice little place on Canterbury High Street, had the BLT and it was delivered quickly and tasted really good. Service was top notch and the prices were fair. Will definitely be popping in again."

A vegan guide to Canterbury

Embracing the hashtag #eatrealfood, Kitch Café prides itself on serving ‘delicious, fresh, homemade food made with all natural and wholegrain, seasonal ingredients’. There are all-day brunch and lunch menus and my pick would be banana and oat pancakes with dark chocolate and maple syrup. Or try the full vegan that ticks the five-a-day box with sweet potato fritters, hummus, tomatoes, spinach and kale, with mushrooms and, of course, avocado on sourdough.

Much like the Veg Box Café, this cozy place on the main drag features salads and soups made fresh with seasonal ingredients, and none of their dishes contain refined sugar or refined flour. While Kitch does serve meat, this seems to be more of an afterthought than a main feature of the menu. Their daily soup is always vegan, as are the two salads, Superfood Salad and Rainbow Salad, whose ingredients vary depending on seasonal availability.
