What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Ivy Cardiff is widely praised for its stunning, decadent atmosphere and exceptional service, making it a popular choice for special occasions and celebrations. While many rave about the delicious food and the overall 'experience,' some diners note that dishes can be average for the price, and service can occasionally be slow during peak times. Despite minor criticisms, the enchanting ambiance and attentive staff often create a memorable dining experience.
"Had a delicious meal here with friends. Mostly attentive service although occasionally waiting to get attention , when it wasn’t too busy really. I found the venue a little echoey.however. The environment was lovely."

"The venue is beautifully decorated with a stunning atmosphere — definitely a lovely place to sit and relax. The food was alright, nothing exceptional but enjoyable enough. Service, however, was very slow. It felt like there was only one server handling the entire place, which made the experience a bit frustrating. Staff were doing their best, but the venue really needs more hands on deck during busy periods."

"Food was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional, Solomon our waiter went above and beyond to make my birthday meal special. We visited as a family of 5 on the 26th of July, we all had a variety of different meals which were brought out quickly and efficiently, he was very attentive and he couldn't of been more welcoming, he even gave me a birthday desert with my very own candle. His service was excellent and he really made every effort to make the day memorable. Thank you Solomon and the staff at the ivy for making my day so wonderful. Would highly recommend."

Top 42 Gluten-Free Dinner Spots to Delight in City Centre, Cardiff
However as a someone with celiac disease I was incredibly disappointed with the options for food - which weren’t just greens. I was so exited as they advertise for gluten free being really good, however the options were extremely limited… when phoning up they said they can make the chips gluten free however, the waiter told me they weren’t and they don’t change the frier, so it would be cross contamination. I think it was off putting as someone who can get extremely poorly with having gluten it didn’t seem as though they knew what to do with the information of being gluten free.
