Reviews Summary

The Blue Vinny offers a charming pub experience with locally sourced food that is often praised for its flavor and presentation. Diners appreciate the dog-friendly atmosphere and the spacious garden, making it ideal for families. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies with menu availability and service, particularly after changes in ownership, leading to occasional disappointment despite the generally good quality of the food when it is available.

"We've been in a few times for a drink but decided to go for a family dinner on Saturday. Food was tip notch! Best steak I've had for ages! Great calamari and kids macaroni cheese was ace too! Only thing we weren't keen on was a loud group near the bar, we were there for 5pm as have a young child and didn't really like the loud group who had clearly been enjoying themselves all afternoon, however otherwise was fantastic and will definitely be going back for more! So pleased the pub is back up and running with fab food and service!"

"We visited here whilst away on holiday. We reviewed the menu online but were disappointed when we arrived because a lot of the items on the menu online were not on offer on the day.

They had no rice, so no curry options were available, there was no macaroni and cheese, the lasagna had been crossed off the menu and the chicken wings and been crossed out and replaced with chicken strips.

The menus offered to us were crumpled-up pieces of paper with sections crossed out in pen. This was not appealing when you first sat down to eat.

We did consider leaving due to the largely restricted menu and very poor presentation of the menus, however, as we had already ordered drinks so we decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and stayed.

The food finally ordered was adequate, it was hot and tasted okay, but the portions were very large and by the time we had finished our starters, we were rather full.

They would probably be better off serving slightly smaller starters and saving the money on the amount of food served to buy the rice and pasta needed to be able to serve a full menu and then print menus that were appealing to look at when ordering.

The staff in the restaurant were very nice, but very young so they lacked experience in customer service. The failings of this pub appear to be down to a lack of management on site paying attention to the dinner details that will make customers want to return again."

"Today we visited the Vinny and had a great experience! The food was exactly what you’d hope for in a proper pub—hearty, flavourful, and clearly made with care. I had the baked Camembert , friends had the burger and fish and chips and it was spot on. Portions were generous and everything was served piping hot and presented well … all very delicious and recommended !

What sets this place apart was the garden. It’s spacious , well-kept, and perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening out. Whether you're grabbing a quiet pint or having a full meal outdoors, the garden area adds a lovely touch. Plenty of seating, children’s play area shaded spots, and a peaceful vibe—not something you find everywhere."
