Reviews Summary

The Brewers Arms offers a friendly village pub experience with hearty, homemade food and good value. While many praise the Sunday roasts, friendly atmosphere, and dog-friendly policies, some reviews mention small portions and less successful dishes like the fish pie.

"Nice evening meal, pork belly bites were nice as a starter shame wasn’t more choice on starters but mains were great I had pizza and our group had burgers and pies which all were good. Well priced and good service."

Caravanning With The Coxs

"This was a very good place for a family celebration lunch for 12, including 3 children. My parsnip was inedible, but the roast beef was delicious. Our 3 vegetarians said their squash wellington was delicious. Leanne and Ben were very helpful in accommodating us. It is the fourth time I have had lunch at the pub and it has always been good."

Elizabeth Skinner

"Unfortunately I had an awful meal here. I ordered the fish pie which my first reaction to seeing it was surprise at how tiny it was. I tucked in regardless and was even more surprised to find that the covering for the fish pie was a bone dry pile of panco breadcrumbs topped with cheese. This is not a matter of taste but a fundamental lack of cooking knowledge from who ever conceived this. It's actually mind blowing to me that anyone could serve this and think it could ever be enjoyed by anyone. It's like serving a pile of uncooked flour and expecting someone to enjoy it. Moving on to the filling - the white sauce was bland and there was only one prawn and five small chunks of fish in the pie. £16 down the drain. The only positive was the girl serving us was very nice and the Thatchers was good."
