Tickety Boos is a friendly pub right in the centre of Dundee on Commercial Street, and the unusual horseshoe-shaped bar is the first thing you see as you step inside the traditional interior. I visited Dundee with my Gran, and we perched in a wee booth, before browsing the menu which features plenty of ‘pub favourites’. We both ordered the Beer Battered Arbroath Haddock, which was served with chips, tartare sauce, fresh salad and homemade coleslaw.

If you like fish and chips, but don’t fancy eating your dinner off a paper plate and at one of those plastic picnic tables, Tickety Boo’s will be a breath of fresh air. It’s nice to know that you can still get proper fish and chips when dining out, in a really nice place too. Tickety Boo’s manages to create a warm, cosy atmosphere in what is actually quite a spacious pub. The horseshoe bar and stained-glass windows offer the vibe of a traditional Scottish boozer but you’ll love to hear their drinks and food selection won’t disappoint even the most modern of tastes. You can sit down and enjoy some of your favourite, hearty pub grub, watch some sport on the telly and catch up with your mates.

This Commercial Street bar is popular with tourists and locals alike for food as well as a quick drink. It has a host of Scottish and British classics on the menu, from tasty bites to Sunday lunch. One recent visitor said: “All measures in place and very well carried out by staff, felt very welcome and very safe during our visit.

The Tickety Boo’s has a striking red exterior that makes its presence known in Dundee. It is a spacious pub with an open interior adorned in bright colours and a cosy wooden bar. Additionally, there is a balcony atop the bar where you can enjoy a pint while taking in the view of the entire pub.

You will eventually find a red pub on your right hand side called Tickety Boo’s. Here, turn right onto Commercial Street and follow it up to Albert Square. Walk all the way round McManus Galleries, Panmure Street forming a kind of arc behind it, and back onto Meadowside.

Further up you will find Tickety Boos which offers a good range of beers and spirits and here you have more chance of a seat than Loyds, ideal for relaxing and having a conversation.

You can get a fantastic ale at innis and Gunn, you have much more variety at Tickety Boo, but you just can’t beat the batter at Tailend!
