Reviews Summary

Aizle offers a highly creative and artfully presented tasting menu, praised for its innovative flavors and exceptional service. Many diners consider it a top dining experience in Edinburgh, highlighting the unique ingredient-led approach. However, some reviews mention concerns about pacing, table allocation, and value for money, especially for shorter tasting menus.

"I was humbled - I didn’t expect one of the best meals I would have to be in this little corner of Edinburgh.

The food is amazing - unlikely combination of ingredients that work out really well together; the chef understood the flavor and texture of each ingredients at play. Unlike other experimental foods, the meal I had didn’t feel exaggerated: just enough touch of fusion with a great care for the eater.

Combine that with great service and relaxing ambience, you get a core memory you would want to visit again from time to time."

Hans Adrian

"Had such a great time at Aizle. The food was amazing — super creative and full of interesting flavour combinations. You can tell a lot of thought goes into every dish.

The atmosphere was relaxed but still felt special. We did the wine pairing and it matched the food perfectly. The staff were really friendly and knew a lot about what they were serving, which made the whole experience even better.

If you like trying new things and enjoy a unique dining experience, definitely give Aizle a try. We’ll for sure be back!"

Tanti Kartika Dewi

"Fantastic dinner at Aizle - a little nostalgic given it was going to be our last time dining….. and still as fabulous as ever! Brilliant team, hospitality and food - every course was delicious and we couldn’t pick a favourite. So well looked after - cocktails were divine, wine choice top notch too / snacks - totally set the scene for dining excellence - thank you Aizle for some insane birthday celebrations over the past 10 years. X"

The 41 best Edinburgh restaurants

Located in the pretty garden room at the Kimpton Charlotte Square hotel, Stuart Ralston's ethos of no menu, just a list of ingredients from which your six-course tasting dinner will be composed, hasn’t changed. Despite the hand-churned butter, Koji fermented rice and all things aged, this is an ever-changing adventure, not a sermon. Dishes such as duck with damson, chicory and pistachio are a gloriously skilful concatenation of flavours, while a pudding of pumpkin, milk sorbet and popcorn custard is simply an eyebrow-raising home-run of fun.

The 15 Best Restaurants in Edinburgh you Have to Try

One of the most interesting places to eat in Edinburgh is Aizle, where the six-course tasting menu changes with the seasonal harvest. Aizle is located inside The Kimpton Charlotte Square, one of Edinburgh’s flashiest luxury hotels, so you can expect your experience here to be a fine dining one. But Aizle doesn’t do anything in what you’d call a normal manner, as they prepare their own live starter for the sourdough, age their aquavit before mixing it with cocktails, and serve hand-churned butter and foraged herbs.

As for what’s on the menu: dishes are intensely seasonal, but expect fresh Scottish produce to always play a starring role.38 Charlotte Square, city centreaizle.co.uk
