Reviews Summary
Lady Libertine offers a visually stunning atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff, particularly praised for their custom cocktails and shareable small plates. While many highlight the positive ambiance and excellent drinks, some dining experiences have been marred by issues with booking management and perceived inconsistencies in food quality.
"I booked our office Christmas Lunch at Lady Lib and was not disappointed. The venue was lovely, the staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. Everyone in our party was very impressed on all accounts. I would definitely recommend for the future."

"Walked in here on a Saturday, and the staff was very welcoming, accommodating us even though we didn’t have a reservation. This place has a gorgeous ambiance with beautiful lighting and a moody basement bar—the perfect setting for a relaxed time!
I asked the staff if they could make me a French 75🍋, even though it wasn’t on the menu, and they absolutely nailed it. Since it was so good, I put in another request for a Negroni - my favourite (not on the menu) and it was fantastic. Ended up ordering another round because why not? 🥃
We spent about two hours here, enjoying three rounds of drinks, while my partner kept ordering IPA pints🍺 . We didn’t try the food this time, but this place is definitely going on our list of go-to spots for drinks!
Oh, and the loos here are absolutely spotless—always a bonus!✨"

"Outstanding service from all staff who attended to our table(s) Sadly, we didn't catch folks names, but everything and everyone was great!
The large charcuterie and cheese board was amazing...3 of us picked at it for ages and still couldn't finish it☺️ Wine deals were fab and a move downstairs to make a change of scenery didn't disappoint!! Music was on point (kinda Manhattan 70's disco vibe) and along with several negronis, we 3 had the best day/evening in a long time!!
Hats off to everyone who made us feel special. Highly recommend...LL, what a gem of a place; service is second to none!! And great value too!! 👍🏼
Update! Just saw staff names on receipts...Jessie, Flora and Phoebe (and others) were so attentive and welcoming. Loved that part of the overall experience too!!! 😉"

20 Cosiest Bars And Pubs In Edinburgh
You can't deny that Lady Libertine is one of the most cosy bars in Edinburgh city centre. The Wine Cafe on the ground floor exudes a sophisticated 1920s energy with its green marble-topped bar, dramatic windows and atmospheric table lamps, while the basement bar is dimly lit with checkered floors and tasselled lampshades. Having made its way onto the UK's Top Cocktail Bars list, the bar shakes up both classic and signature cocktails (such as the Silk Road made with Tanqueray gin, rhubarb and orange and tonka cordial), alongside beers, ciders and, of course, an impressive shelf of European wine.

In the dimly lit basement of the Edinburgh Grand, bearded bartenders rustle up mean martinis and bespoke cocktails at hipster hangout Lady Libertine. The ground floor bar has a unique vibe (think fin de siècle European train station) and an extensive sherry menu. Sip a La Gitana manzanilla or glass of Fernando de Castilla Antique Palo Cortado and step back in time.

The place looks great – that light-up staircase down into the basement has graced many an Instagram feed. The set-up is ideal for a late-night pitstop – good drinks, and a mezze-filled menu that's easy to share with your pals. Edinburgh guide – Things to do, where to stay, eat and drink
If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that Lady Libertine knows how to have fun. The space is spread over two floors, with a wine café serving small plates and lesser-known grapes from across the globe and a subterranean drinking den offering heady libations and live music. Come nighttime, this is where Edinburgh comes out to play.
