What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tattu Edinburgh is celebrated for its breathtaking ambiance, impeccable service, and meticulously crafted Chinese cuisine. Diners rave about signature dishes like the sticky beef short rib and the visually stunning cocktails, often highlighting exceptional staff members who enhance the experience. While the food is consistently praised for its quality and presentation, some found the prawn crackers to be bland and the portion sizes of the signature set menu to be overwhelmingly large.
"We were warmly greeted when arriving at the restaurant. The cherry blossom trees and the interior overall was very nice and cosy.
It started of with some prawn crackers, these were unfortunately quite tasteless.
Secondly came the gyozas, I can’t recall what they were filled with. I do recall pork but could be wrong. These were light and very tasty. Then the star of the show, the sticky beef short rib. That must have been sent down to earth by some higher power. The taste was amazing and the beef just fell apart. The sauce was sweet but not too sweet, it was perfect. The green beans were very tasty too. The broccoli had too much truffle for my taste.
The service we received was fantastic too."

"We visited Tattu Edinburgh today to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary and had a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was stunning, and the service was top-notch. A special thank you to Mickey, who went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. He took the time to walk us through the menu and offered a brilliant cocktail recommendation that didn’t disappoint. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. Overall, a perfect way to mark a special occasion—highly recommend."

"An absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! The atmosphere and decor is inviting, the food and service impeccable. We opted for most of the dishes our server Matthew recommended and were not disappointed. The Wagyu Beef Gyoza, Wild Mushroom Spring Rolls, Glazed Beef Rib and Shanghai Black Cod were standouts! Everything was beautifully presented and prepared. Great cocktails too! Shout out to Matthew - he found the perfect balance of attentiveness without being overbearing. He was friendly, knowledgeable and his suggestions were perfect (although I can't imagine there being a bad choice on the menu!). Highly recommended."
