"My 1st visit here in a few years and also since it changed from what it was and why I stopped going!
Ryan was a real legend when it came to warm welcome, product knowledge and general passion for what they are doing here now!
Menu looks fantastic...... Events sounds brilliant and they have so many plans for the coming year!
Also the staff there and a couple from another place in town have joined too....... Adding to the appeal of what is already a great place to be in and visit!
Thanks Team! 👍🏼🍺😍😍🍺👍🏼"

"Excellent town pub with interesting vegan menu. I chose Torched Vegan Feta with Ember-Roasted Beetroot, Caramelised Red Onion and Walnut Dressing and Grilled Corn on the Cob. It was delicious, beautifully presented and quite quickly delivered by cheerful staff. We sat in the world garden which was lovely in the sunshine. A very pleasant experience."

"Best food in Kent. The chef and his team are offering food you don’t see on other menus, a blend of things everybody loves but with their own unique twist. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is energetic and warm, you feel like you’re sat in your favourite pub, eating you’re favourite foods but everything has been dialled up."

Some Folkestone pubs, for you to enjoy reading about
We gave the Radnor Arms, just round the corner a miss, as the plan was to call in on way back to station – spoiler alert, we didn’t!. Instead, we walked along cliff top, with its views out across the English Channel, to France, and ended up in Bayle area of town, where the parish church is situated. This quiet and peaceful area is the original centre, of Folkestone, when it was just a small town, perched up on the cliffs, overlooking a small haven.
Brunch at The Radnor Arms, Folkestone
The renovated Victoria pub is part of The Pickled Egg Company and Rocksalt Group. The guys behind my local The Woolpack in Warehorne, which I was sure I’d already reviewed on my blog, and I haven’t. But trust me, it is one of the best pubs, whether you want a roast dinner, a light lunch or a night out – the food is incredible, and I’m happy to report that The Radnor Arms is just as impressive.
Our FAV Drinking spots in Folkestone
The Radnor Arms, Christchurch Road is a beautiful hidden gem recently purchased by The Pickled Egg pub company with a secret garden, they have a good wine list and also do food. Just round the corner The Bouverie Tap on W Bouverie Place has it’s own Pilsner, decent beers and a small but perfectly formed menu. If you’re eating up this end of town that’s my suggestion for the best pub grub.
Where to eat in Folkestone
A stagger away is Nepalese restaurant Annapurna, where succulent momos, crisp pakoras and curries await, run by former Gurkha Tej Tamang and wife Sangita. With the Gurkha base located in Folkestone, the town is blessed with Gurkha Palace (first Nepalese in town), Himalayan Café (cousins of Annapurna), and Everest Cafe and Bar (great samosas and for watching the football).

This tucked away Victorian pub has enjoyed a recent renovation, and it's a welcome addition to the charming old Bouverie district of Folkestone. Inside the pub is a warren of bars and various dining rooms, each with a distinct and quirky decor. With its sumptuous dark blue walls and ceiling, and rich dark wood, the bar is the handsome heart of the pub.

There are also several restaurants that allow dogs inside, including Market Square and Django’s Cafe and Petit Bistro, while The Captain’s Table cafe in The Stade is a great spot for breakfast after your early dog walk. And Folkestone’s Harbour Arm has numerous places to eat and drink, with vendors frequently providing water bowls and snacks for pets.
ROCKSALT HEAD CHEF AKOS MATE'S INSIDER GUIDE TO FOLKESTONE
The Radnor Arms has to be my favourite destination for my wife and I, as well as our family, for a delicious and relaxed lunch or dinner. The menu, created by the talented Head Chef Niel Talan, focuses on seasonal local produce. My personal favourite right now is his incredible overnight flatbreads, all handmade in-house.

Visiting, or moving to, Folkestone
Indoors, I suggest the Radnor Arms (which does also have a good outside area). The Old Buoy on Tontine Street is also definitely worth a visit (excellent croque monsieur too) and often has live DJ sets at night (it gets very busy). Rosemont is relatively new and popular if you’re looking for a cocktail.
A Pub with Something Special - The Radnor Arms
The Radnor Arms is no exception; set in the west end of town, in the Bouverie Village. The decor is beautiful, and this is part of the Pickled Egg Pub Company run by Josh De Haan. Manager Ryan has been part of the group for nearly 4 years and knows just how important a pub is to its local community.

Settled in the Old Bouverie district, The Radnir Arms is a popular pub with a Victorian legacy and a lively atmosphere. Recently renovated and achingly on-trend, this is a go-to spot for colourful modern European dishes, burgers, and flatbreads.
The best restaurants and cafes in Folkestone, Kent
As my favourite pub in Folkestone, it's an ideal place for a cosy meal out in the winter months. They service many classic pub dishes of high quality. I especially love their Sunday roasts and going in there for a drink with friends.

Radnor Arms — Best halloumi burger and chips anywhere, and they make their own gin. I’ve also become obsessed with the Spanish olives they sell and buy a can a week because I’m made of money :/
