What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners praise Thong Dees for its authentic, flavorful Thai cuisine and the unique, cozy atmosphere. Many highlight standout dishes like the Massaman curry and Pork Larb. While the food and service generally receive high marks, there have been instances of significant customer service issues regarding bookings and opening times.
"We weren't sure what to expect since some past reviews were pretty negative. Fortunately during our visit everything went perfectly. The service was very nice, the food arrived quickly and was very good and we had nothing to complain. On the contrary: The quality of everything was comparable to other Thai Restaurants we visited in different countries. We can definitely recommend this restaurant."

"We booked a table for 2 and got a confirmation email and an email the day before to remind us. We arrived and the restaurant was closed. We went into the pub to be told be the barman that it doesn’t open on Mondays. I showed him the email and he said “oh no they haven’t sorted the website” He pointed us to “the boss” who shrugged his shoulders and said it was nothing to do with him and walked off.
There are lots of restaurants in Folkestone who look after their.customers This clearly isn’t one of them. So I would advise anyone who expects to be treated to good customer service to avoid this one."

"My first time eating here and came In with a friend.
We came In early to pre-book a table which on a Saturday evening is probably best seeing as it's not a big restaurant so better to be safe than sorry.
The service was good with polite and friendly staff.
We ordered the sharing platter for two people and that was a good sized plate for two people for a starter complete with 3 dips.
The Massaman beef curry was well cooked with very tender beef and Jasmine rice and the Pad nam prig pow was well cooked too.
Overall good food in a nice relaxing environment."
