Continuing the wave of Spanish arrivals in Glasgow, the newest venture from the team behind the Butcher Shop and Hutcheson's is their most exciting yet. Effortlessly cool both in terms of food offering and its design, the restaurant offers some of the exciting dishes we've seen in a while. With Grade 9 Galician steak, 30 month salt-cured Iberico Jamon, whole Turbot and grilled octopus all gracing the menu alongside some of Scotland's best ingredients you'll be sure to find something to challenge your perceptions on what a Glasgow restaurant is capable of.

After opening the Butchershop on Sauchiehall St, which proclaims Scottish beef and produce, Rusk & Rusk touched down in the Merchant City to do the same for Spain. A large, dramatically dark brasserie divided into intimate chambers and with seats at the bar, this paean to all things Iberian is big on steak and hams (and a whole roast suckling pig you can pre-order), but there’s lots of non-meat choices. Great Spanish wine list by bottle and glass, as you’d expect.

It’s located on Miller Street but on entering, you instantly feel like you have been transported to a bustling restaurant in Madrid. The vibe is electric but cosy and the food is too tasty for words my favourite is the roast rack of lamb.
