"This was our first visit to this chippy but it won’t be the last! Superb. I had the two fish supper (battered and breaded) both lovely, fresh and crisp. Also tried the spicy haggis and it was the best i have ever had, so flavoursome. Sausage supper was a hit too and tried the southern fried chicken..will be back next week for that again. Staff were lovely and deserve to be up there and winning the awards 👌"

"Fish and Chips in landlocked Shawhead, Coatbridge?
This was our second trip to Tony’s and I wish that I could give this place 6 stars.
As per the first visit everything cooked to order. Piping hot, fish flaky, fresh, and white as snow. Batter super crispy and clean as they use a clever bit of kit to keep the oil spotless.
This visit we sampled a “chicken box” a large pizza box with 10, yes 10 huge home made southern fried chicken pieces (huge crispy tender chicken), 10 nuggets, 5 fritters, 2 sauces or a sauce and 3 dips and a big portion of chips (separate as there is no room in the massive pizza box 😂). It cost £21.95!! Could have fed 2 adults and 2 kids with leftovers.
They do a smaller version if you have less people to feed!
We also had the battered fish again. My eldest devoured her fish as did I.
10/10 not one bite of disappointment. These guys have won tons of awards and it shows why. If you live in central Scotland then forget some of the famous chippies on the coast and get along to Tony’s. Might not have a sea view but Hugh knows exactly what he’s doing with a fryer!
