What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Windows Restaurant offers breathtaking panoramic views of Glasgow, making it a popular choice for its ambiance and afternoon tea. While many praise the spectacular scenery and enjoyable sweet treats, some diners find the savory elements of the afternoon tea and certain main dishes to be uninspired or lacking in flavor. Service can be inconsistent, with some experiencing attentive staff while others report a lack of attention and confusion regarding charges.
"The view is very nice, about the same height as the buildings around the restaurant. So you have a nice side view over the city with chimneys, towers, older and more modern buildings.
After chilling outside for a while until sunset on a warm sunny day, we went inside and had dinner. Even though some of the older reviews were not so good, we enjoyed the food very much. The staff was also very nice and accommodating."
Urs Grob (Woerf)
"The food was OK, but the savoury food was basically just little sandwhiches..no brioche buns or wraps. Scones were lovely and so were cakes. The view was nothing great. A lot of bird poo on the roof below. Room itself is quite dated looking. Finally staff were pleasant enough but never came back once to ask if everything was OK or if I wanted a refill of my coffee (which apparent you can get unlimited but I never knew as no on offered) so just a lack of attention. Over all the experience was OK.. but not really worth the money."
Lesley Mackenzie
"The restaurant it’s nice, an old hotel in a good location. the view is not good except for two tables in the corner.
The food was okay, good portions, the pastries were good, the sandwiches a little bit simple but with a decent taste. The scones could be better (very plain flavor )
The service was just okay . they never explain how was the Afternoon tea’s service. they never checked if we need more tea of coffee. Or even water / Prosecco. We wanted to order a glass of prosecco but nobody check our table so we didn’t ask for it.
If we would reader the reviews before go to this place , I’m not sure if we would choose it."
