One of the newest in Liverpool, Black Lodge is a small-batch brewery situated in the Baltic Triangle. Black Lodge brews a small but unique selection of beers, ales and IPAs, which are available to sample at their tap room between Thursday and Sunday.

Black Lodge Brewery on Kings Dock Street, across the from the Dockside Area complex and a stone’s throw from Liverpool One, hosts two options for people interested in Brewery sessions. First up is the offer open to customers on Sunday to Thursday, with a guided five beer tasting with one of the Black Lodge Brewery team for £15 per person (which includes a quick tour of the brewing process), or for £27.50 (minimum of four people and limited to when the kitchen is open) you can include food with the beer tasting from the Fatback Burger kitchen located on site.

If you visit enough craft breweries, sooner or later you’ll find yourself wandering around some off-the-beaten-path industrial estates. While Black Lodge Brewing isn’t in the middle of nowhere (it’s in the Baltic Triangle not far from Love Lane Brewing), getting to it isn’t as straightforward as it initially appears on a map. Black Lodge is surrounded by brick walls on 3 sides, so you can only reach it from the west, which is probably the least likely way you’d be traveling from.

Although these guys have been knocking about since 2015, they are but a matter of days into celebrating the launch of their brand new brewery and tap room. Black Lodge is a small batch brewery with experimentation and beer-based alchemy at its heart. Showcasing an ever-changing line up of both local and international brews, this is the place to come if you want to dabble in something a little bit different.

Black Lodge Brewery has been keeping the beers coming through lockdown thanks to its online shop and delivery, but now it’s nearly time to get off the sofa and drink them out in the open at last. Beers and burgers are back on in the beer garden in the Baltic from April 12 and, one for the diaries, on April 24 the guys from Wylam Brewery in Newcastle will be taking over the taps and tunes.

The Lark Lane boozer has spruced up its outdoor area in recent years with pretty plant pots and colourful paint work.
