LEAF began as a small tea shop run by friends in a Liverpool city centre gallery in 2007, with the goal of bringing quality loos-leaf tea to the city in an intimate and bohemian space. The teashop stocks over 60 rare loose leaf teas from across the globe and has even won Great Taste Awards for several of their blends such as Secret Garden, Autumn Fire, Peppermint and Pure Life Wellness. Their Bold Street branch set in a beautiful Art Deco building was formerly a tea room in the 1920s, a cinema in the late 20th Century and most recently Microzine clothes shop before becoming a teashop, restaurant and events space all in one.

Created by a group of friends looking to bring loose-leaf tea to Liverpool, LEAF is a small, bohemian space all students should visit. Since 2007, they’ve expanded to three shops, and their distinctive spaces are a great place to relax and enjoy countless varieties of tea and coffee. Their food selection is packed with classic breakfast options and all-day menus, where you can choose dishes from lamb to pasta, juicy burgers, and sharing platters packed with inventive varieties of complementary foods.

After a long day of exploring Liverpool we got dinner at Leaf on Bold Street. All the gluten-free dishes were marked on the menu and they had a lot of options to choose from. I got an iced matcha with almond milk and we both ordered the salmon special.
