Reviews Summary
Donia is highly praised for its innovative modern Filipino cuisine, with particular acclaim for its prawn and pork dumplings, crispy Lechon, and delightful ube ice cream choux bun. The ambiance is often described as nice and chilled, complemented by attentive and friendly service. While most diners find the experience worth the price, some mention that certain dishes could be improved, and the overall cost is on the higher end.
"Celebrating Easter in London 🇬🇧 at a Modern Filipino 🇵🇭 restaurant- @donia.restaurant We support Filipino anywhere in the world!! We feel right at home surrounded by a few Filipino diners and with a Filipino server, Daniel, and with one of the chefs who is Filipino. Super duper enjoyed our lunch!! My favorite is the prawn and pork dumpling with white crab! The sauce is so yummy!!! Then for main we had the two favorites - Lechon & Chicken Inasal. Both with yummy sauces as well!!! The ube ice cream choux is also so yummy!! All the breads are made by a sister bakery called Panaderia. The owner and Executive chef is Filipina! Congratulations!!! We love Donia! The location is in a nice place in Carnaby with so many other restaurants- Kingly court"

"We had an absolutely fantastic time dining at Donia this evening. Our server, Andre, was incredible and went above & beyond to ensure that my family and I were well taken care of for the entirety of our visit. It was certainly worth the 3,200 mile trip from Boston! Thank you again to Andre and the rest of the front of house & back of house teams!"

"Excellent excellent excellent. Every dish slaps with flavours and I basically drank every sauce with rice. Not even sure how you cook pork that tender with skin that crispy. Chicken is juicy and beautifully charred. Hot plates and clean plating. Great service and interior.
And the price is amazingly reasonable.
Definitely coming back."

Donia is the latest opening from the team behind Mamasons ice-cream shop. A modern Filipino restaurant on the top floor of Kingly Court, Donia reimagines street food classics like prawn and pork dumplings, and crispy roast pork with liver and peppercorn sauce. The team takes its inspiration from the flavours of co-founder Florence Mae Maglanoc’s childhood, recreating them through a modern lens: think white crab meat cooked in brown butter lime sauce and a dash of chilli oil; ceviche-style kinilaw, prepared by curing thinly sliced sea bream in citrus and vinegar; and salted duck egg with a fennel and tomato salad, seasoned with cured yolk.
18 Great Restaurants For East And Southeast Asian Cuisine In London, According To A Local
Newly-opened Donia is London's restaurant de jour; its name and Filipino flavors are currently on the tip of every London-based food critic's tongue. Set up by The Maginhawa Group, founded by Ramo Ramen's Omar Shaw and Florence Mae Maglanoc, Donia has only been open a scan few months, but its popularity is proving to reflect the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen as well as the public's desire for more Filipino flavors and culinary representation. Start with adobo mushroom croquetas, the salted egg and tomato salad, or a sea bream kinilaw, a Filipino version of raw cured fish similar to ceviche.

Donia, tucked into the top floor of Kingly Court, was a hit within days of opening. It's worth battling the Carnaby Street crowds to nab a seat here and try Florence Mae Maglanoc's take on Filipino street food hits: think prawn and pork dumplings topped with white crab in brown butter, or crispy roast pork with liver peppercorn sauce. Donia is part of the buzzy group of Filipino eateries that includes Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream, and you can find some of the winning flavours – like ube and guyabano – on offer as a final treat.
The Best Restaurants In London, As Chosen By Vogue
The folks behind Kentish Town’s beloved (and bizarrely underrated) bakery Panadera have brought modern Filipino cuisine to the upper reaches of Kingly Court with Donia – and in frenziedly delicious fashion. There are open-topped shumai dumplings with crab and sea bream kinilaw (a Filipino ceviche), punchy plates of lamb shoulder Caldereta pie (with its Proustian school-dinner profile), and an Insta-baiting choux bun with violet-hued ube ice-cream. Bizarrely slept on it may be, but this is a bona fide instant classic.
