What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners consistently praise The Ivy Spinningfields for its stunning ambiance, elegant decor, and the attentive, friendly service that enhances special occasions. While many rave about the overall experience, some note that prices can be on the higher side, and occasional minor issues like warm wine or slightly firm batter on fish and chips have been mentioned.
"We had a very bad experience with the Ivy in York in 2023. This is the first time we are back to The Ivy for a meal, but in Manchester, and it is amazing. We can’t describe how good this is. The food is amazing, the staff our waitress she is absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful time with the Ivy in Manchester. Next time we are going to try the restaurant upstairs The Ivy Asia.
We had the British Icons menu, only for Monday to Friday, it’s a good deal, £34.95 for three courses meal and one glass of champagne, how good that is. My fish and chips is good, but personally I prefer lightly battered than this hard battered, but the fish is still good. I also tasted the Shepard Pie, that’s so so tasty. I like to cook, and this is the cooking I am talking about. Well done , the Ivy Spinningfields Brasserie Manchester."

"I have always enjoyed dining at The Ivy due to the very welcoming nature of each and everyone employed there.
The design and deco is like being in an art gallery, every space evokes your imagination.
The customer service of Rodger was above par, even created a custom made hand wipe using a serviette, hot water in a beautiful kettle and fresh lemons because no hot wipes were available. That is excellence in customer service.
Amelia was so welcoming and very helpful with navigating around the breakfast menu, making ample suggestions to my dietary needs.
The reception staff who are the pinnacle of any restaurant were dressed in a very presentable manner and were very approachable and accommodating especially as it was a walk-in.
I would highly recommend dining at The Ivy, Spinningfields, Manchester and would also recommend the rooftop terrace and the Asia Room. Prices are not excessive of places that are in Spinningfields and every area caters to your needs."

"Visited for my wife's birthday, mid afternoon visit. Lovely friendly staff, lovely surroundings. Food was fantastic, excellent service. Only downside would be the price, but I suppose you get what you pay for."

Best British, Modern Restaurants in Salford Quays - Reviews & Restaurant Guide
With the “lovely decor” replicated from the Theatreland icon for which they are branded, Richard Caring’s “always buzzy” spin-offs have found a gigantic audience nationally. But “these places live off the name for sure” and “it’s the ambience that keeps them going” – while fans say the food is “reliable”, more sceptical types dismiss it as “conveyor-belt cooking”; and say service is merely so-so. Some branches are better than others: best in London is ‘Chelsea Garden’, which has the same “distinctly average” standards as the others, but reliably offers an “uplifting” atmosphere and “great people watching” (and “on a sunny afternoon there is literally NO WHERE ELSE TO BE but its large garden. HEAVEN!!”).
