What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hibou Blanc is praised for its elegant ambiance, stunning decor reminiscent of the 1920s, and delicious food, particularly the Sunday Roast and steak. The staff are generally noted as attentive and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, some reviews mention occasional service hiccups and high price points, with one TripAdvisor review describing a very negative experience with cold hot chocolate and poor service.
"We visited on a Sunday for my partners birthday , so we had the the three course Sunday lunch deal, which cost £32, the baked cheese souffle was excellent as were the venison scotch eggs, we then both had the lamb which was cooked to our choice, and it was absolutely delicious, desserts were chocolate brownie, again very good and the strawberries and ice cream, which i chose as I'm not really a dessert person was good but presentation wasn't great for a high end restaurant, after a strawberry spritz cocktail and redbull the bill was around £82. the staff were lovely and very attentive but not intrusive, would return for a special occasion."

"Probably the best bar/restaurant in the big market, quirky old library/Scottish lodge atmosphere.
Brilliant staff great cocktails, only had bar snacks so far but on the strength of those will definitely book into the restaurant soon.
The kitchen smells waft into the toilets, they are the best god damned smelling toilets I have ever been in 😁"

"Don’t think I’ve enjoyed a restaurant more than we liked Hibou Blanc. Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, live music, and exceptional food. We had the 3 course Sunday lunch for 35£. The lamb was delicious, cooked pink to perfection, and melts in your mouth. But the Summer trifle was the stand out. Everything I loved about desserts and more. The staff were great as we had our baby and dog with us. They brought out a starter quickly upon request so the baby could have his lunch. The live music later this in the afternoon was a pleasant surprise and enjoyable. Will definitely be going back again and again."

Their menu, lovingly crafted by our Head Chef Neil Jefferson, reflects the very best of local seasonal produce, and is changed to reflect this on a regular basis, with a strong focus on using the best British seafood available in each season, we source the best local produce to create classic dishes served simply. Hibou Blanc is perfect for people wanting to make a real night of it and enjoy a meal out before the theatre.

The Best Dog Friendly Pubs In Newcastle
Hibou Blanc is definitely more of a classy bar than a pub, and can be found on High Bridge Street. They do have outside seating at the other side on the Bigg Market too where dogs are welcome, and they can go in the bar area as a walk in. You can’t reserve tables for the bar, but it’s pretty big and you shouldn’t struggle to get a table.

This High Bridge haven is back in business with indoor dining from 17 May, and while we’ve been enjoying the Med vibes of the outdoor terrace, we can’t wait to get back inside and take in the dreamy interiors. Think plush dining booths, a gloriously grand bar sitting at the centre, and refined, white-tablecloth dining.
