What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Fort Inn is celebrated for its stunning coastal views and family-friendly atmosphere, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Diners frequently praise the carvery and fish and chips, though some have noted inconsistencies with other dishes like burgers or the hunter's chicken. The outdoor seating is a major draw, especially on sunny days, but be mindful of bold seagulls.
"Lovely place with a fabulous view! Lots of outdoor seating so when the sun is shining this is a great place to stop off. Good traditional type of menu and the food we had was very tasty. Would recommend a visit!"

"Great location right on the seafront with plenty of seating both inside and outside. We visited on a sunny day and really enjoyed the views. There are QR codes on the tables for ordering, but online ordering wasn’t working at the time, so we ordered at the bar instead.
Good selection of beers and ciders - especially liked the local Cornish cider. The food was mostly very good: the fish was one of the crispiest I’ve had, nicely seasoned, with great chips and mushy peas. The hunter’s chicken, however, was a bit disappointing—the portion was generous, but the BBQ sauce overpowered everything, and I wasn’t a fan of the salad dressing.
The pub is dog-friendly, which is lovely, with water bowls and even treats available for your furry friends. Atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, though be warned about the seagulls if you’re sitting outside—they’re bold! One swooped in and tried to steal my food just as I was finishing. Thankfully, I found this more funny than frustrating.
Overall, it is a nice spot for food and drinks with a brilliant coastal view. A few small tweaks, and it would be perfect."

"We recently had a lunch at Fort Inn in Newquay, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a fantastic meal.
The food was absolutely delightful! Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Whether you're in the mood for fresh seafood or hearty comfort food, Fort Inn has something for everyone.
What really sets Fort Inn apart is its incredible location. Perched right by the sea, the views are nothing short of breathtaking. Watching the waves crash against the shore while enjoying my meal was an experience I'll never forget. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a relaxing meal with friends.
Overall, Fort Inn is a must-visit if you're in Newquay. With excellent food, a beautiful setting, and friendly service, it deserves every one of those five stars! I can't wait to return!"
