Fish, shellfi sh, chicken, lamb & venison dishes to name a few, as well as a full vegan menu. All food is cooked to order allowing recipes to be adapted as required for most dietary requirements.

Overlooking the Victorian town’s memorial gardens and close to the bridge carrying the main railway line between the Highlands and the south, it looks rather like a traditional family home in the Scottish vernacular from the outside. But inside, it has been transformed into a lovely big, open-plan restaurant.

It’s definitely a restaurant and not a pub, which is a nice change if you’re spending a few days or a week eating out in the area (there are a lot of pubs!). The atmosphere is really good and because it’s not a pub, you can wear a dress/jumpsuit and heels and not feel overdressed, which I obviously love.

A beautiful traditional stone built cottage, in the centre of Pitlochry's charming main street, Fern Cottage has oodles of charm and character. Their menu offers a unique mix of flavours, tastes and culture. All their food is freshly cooked when you make your choice.

Fern Cottage is on the left, before you reach the railway bridge. The restaurant still has the appearance of the tea room that it once was, but don't let that put you off. The owner/chef is Turkish and has injected a good deal of Mediterranean flavour into his menu.

Over in the nearby town of Pitlochry, we’re big fans of Fern Cottage restaurant, where talented chefs serve up unique yet oh-so-tasty dishes which add a little taste of the Meditteranean to traditional Scottish dishes.

This Mediterranean restaurant was a fortunate find on a lovely warm evening. Great setting, very good selection of food and excellent service. Our group all enjoyed themselves, with no complaints about the food.
