Reviews Summary

The Dock Cafe is praised for its stunning marina views and the relaxed atmosphere, making it a delightful spot for a meal. While many enjoy the food, particularly burgers and seafood, some reviews mention inconsistencies in food quality and value, with one diner finding the food expensive and poor quality. Service is generally described as friendly and attentive, though occasional experiences with inattentive staff have been noted. The parking situation can be confusing, but staff are helpful.

"Greta place to dine and great atmosphere
The restaurant is on the first floor and overlooks the harbour and quay. Some quirky architecture makes this place fun and spacious, large glass windows give good views of the yachts docked in the harbour. Food was lovely, served quite quickly and of good portions. Had burgers, carbonara (with chicken) and Milanese chicken. All really tasty meals. Good selection of desserts too. Service was good and staff were attentive. Would recommend a visit and eat here. Has its own parking so no need to pay parking elsewhere. Though one part of the car park says 3 hours and the other says permit only. The one car park has both and you can stay for up to 3 hours for free when dining at the restaurant"

"Came here for a Sunday Roast and was very impressed!

The venue is great, overlooking King Point Marina and the Sound, open contemporary decor and friendly welcoming staff - had a nice table overlooking the marina- the Beef Sunday Roast was excellent and well priced and portioned

Would recommend and will be back"

It was with a typically shrewd decision that Reynolds decided to open a studio in Dock the area we know as Devonport in 1746 and until 1749 he was head of his own household with responsibility for his two unmarried sisters (who as mentioned in Celia Bean’s post opened a millinery shop in Fore Street). Here in Dock – this early self-portrait was displayed. A study of Reynolds’ self-portraits reveals that many of them were painted for a purpose to mark a specific event or turning point in his life and there is little doubt that it was used as an example of his work – for any prospective client wondering if he could do a likeness here was the sitter and the painter.
