What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
London Street Brasserie is praised for its exceptional food quality and attentive service, making it a top choice for special occasions and everyday dining. While generally delivering outstanding culinary experiences, some guests note minor delays in service or the occasional dish not reaching the highest expectations. The atmosphere is a highlight, with both elegant and informal dining areas, and a lovely riverside setting.
"Modern British cuisine with global touches and ingredients is served at this chic restaurant in Reading. Two dining areas: one informal pub style and another one elegant-dark modern room. All the dishes are expertly executed. We particularly enjoyed the duck starter and the pork belly, which had an outstanding flavour and incredibly crispy skin. Large selection of drinks and appropriate wine list. The only improvement point is part of the service, although attentive and polite, clearly not professional."

"What an absolute delight. The food was spectacular in every way. As a party of six, we managed to try a variety of dishes and every one was wonderfully presented, well portioned and had obviously been cooked and prepared with a great deal of care. I went for the belly pork which was so good, it's managed to get up there into my top 5 of all time. Our server was very attentive, friendly and well informed. Our party included someone with a nut allergy and this was very well catered for too. This place had the intimacy of a small restaurant but it's layout provided plenty of tables. You will need to book as this is a very popular place to eat. Highly recommend."

"I had a lunch in this lovely brasserie serving British cuisine with Mediterranean influences.
The octopus was grilled perfectly, absolutely delicious!
My fish and chips cod was also delicious, not too heavy.
My girlfriend had a fish cake and a veggie Sunday Roast, which she enjoyed.
Quite big portions, that's why we didn't order dessert.
Service was friendly and attentive.
One of the best restaurants in Reading! Well done team!"

Al fresco dining (2019
The only restaurant to make my list both in 2015 and today, London Street Brasserie has a nice outside area looking out on the river (and the often less than salubrious goings-on near the manky car park on the opposite bank). But that aside, it’s actually quite an attractive decked area which catches plenty of sun, and as the evening light starts to fade there are blankets to keep you warm. Many years as Reading’s fanciest restaurant (a title which has only really been challenged in the last year or so) means that in some respects the food is secondary to the whole experience.
