What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Luzborough offers a charming historical pub atmosphere and generally well-cooked food, with steaks and Sunday roasts receiving particular praise. However, inconsistent service and occasional issues with food preparation, such as dry or burnt dishes, have been noted by some patrons. The dog-friendly garden and cozy interior are definite draws, but potential diners should be aware of possible service hiccups.
"What a gorgeous little hidden gem of a traditional style country pub! Stopped off on the way home. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the food arrived quite quickly too! Nice sized portions and tasted delicious."

"Lovely pub, full of atmosphere and really old (grade 2 listed with parts from 16th century) we had perfectly cooked sirloin steaks. Ladies in heels beware, the paving between the car park and entrance has some missing pointing with deep gaps, enough to either wreck your shoes or test your ability to resist gravity if it's dark or you aren't watching where you walk. Lovely pub, masses of parking although no disabled parking bays to be found (although there may be one which is almost faded out so hard to be sure) which is a shame and they could certainly add a couple more as if you are disabled the walk across the car park would be too far for most."

"We’ve been 5 times in the last 2 months after giving it a long break due to poor management and bad experiences. The first time was a walk in and service and food was great. The second time we booked, but when we arrived they didn’t have a table for us, asked us to sit outside and all food was dry, overcooked and burnt. The 3rd time was a walk in and they were not doing food. The 4th time we booked and again when we arrived they didn’t have a table for us and asked us to sit outside despite it being cold and having an 83 yr old in our group. They sat us inside anfter complaining and again gave us burnt food with items missing. The most recent time was again a walk in, and they told us no food now but try again in an hour. We ordered eventually and the food came out again dry burnt and missing items. Unfortunately this is our local so we have tried a few times. Every time we have been they have either said they are understaffed in front of house or understaffed in the kitchen. Greene king either need to get a decent manager in like they used to, or sell the pub to someone else. We have been going here for nearly 2 decades and it’s a shame such a well loved pub in Romsey has been ran to ruin by poor management over the last 3 years."
