Reviews Summary

The Hungry Monk is praised for its delicious food, particularly its steaks, generous portions, and vibrant atmosphere with live music. While many highlight friendly and efficient service, some reviews mention slow drink service and food that is a bit pricey for the quality. The eclectic decor is a talking point, though some find the lighting too dim for daytime dining.

"Amazing experience at the hungry monk. Visited with my partner and son in the evening for our anniversary meal, Jess served us. She was amazing, so helpful and inclusive with our little boy. Even when he was shouting a little bit and running around we were made to feel so welcome and valued. Food was incredible and the price was so reasonable considering the amount of food we got. We’ll definitely be returning! Thanks so much guys!"

Victoria Cummins

"Spent £117 today for 10 people on food. Place is a little quirky and in a strange part of southport, but all was good.

The quality of food was decent and there were no complaints about the food.

The service was a little slow for drinks. Seemed a bit slow working behind the bar. Leffe tasted like sour vinegar.

Overall a fairly decent visit."

MOO STAR

"Good food with good entertainment. I have been a few times and always enjoyed it. The food is of good quality and have not been disappointed. The tapas was good no need for more than 3 portions as the sizes are decent too. Can get crampt on a entertainment night. Good selection of beers, Goose, Dortmunder, Peroni, Carling and more. I had the steak pie on my most recent. I frequently have the steak because it's one of the few places that can cook a steak very well."
