Northpoint made a name for itself as one of the favourite meeting places of Prince William and Kate Middleton during their St Andrews days, but this charming café was worth a visit long before. Located just a few minutes walk from the beach, the bustling, cosy atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a casual study session or lazy brunch with friends. The breakfast menu has something to suit all tastes, from freshly baked scones and tea to an extravagant breakfast burrito, while the lunch menu includes a selection of soups, panini and toasted bagels.

Supposedly it was at the Northpoint Cafe, where they proudly hang a sign reading “Where Kate Met Wills (for coffee!).” It’s decidedly not a royal affair, however it’s a terrific (and cheap) option for breakfast and lunch. It’s almost always bustling so who knows, maybe it could be where you meet your Kate or Wills.

North Point Cafe is a cute wee cafe with excellent marketing. As you’ll see on the sign in the window it is where Prince William would meet his future wife Kate Middleton…for coffee. Even if it wasn’t the place they officially met (they met when they were both attending St Andrews University) this cafe still has amazing food, with a mouthwatering selection of scones, tea and coffee, soups and sandwiches.

Found near the rocky outcrops where St Andrews meets the sea, and just a short stroll from St Andrews Castle, Northpoint Cafe combines classic Scottish fare with typical cafe vibes. Interestingly, it got royal approval when Prince William and Kate Middleton stopped by for a coffee during their time at St Andrews University.

St Andrews Farmers Market takes place in Argyle Street (North) car park on the first Saturday of every month between 9am and 1pm, when up to 30 stalls sell a variety of local produce from fruit, vegetables, cheese and chocolate to venison, beef, buffalo, pork and freshly smoked Arbroath Smokies.
